He’s hard on himself. Someone like Darren Bent was on the radio the other day saying they were at Villa when Enda was a young player there and he was a really good kid and hard working. It sounds like he really sets high standards for himself and beats himself up when he doesn’t reach them, constantly pushing himself. His determination is admirable, as the other recent article says, Ireland is full of young players who tried to make it in England and come home saying how hard it was and how badly they were treated, Enda took all that but didn’t go home, he succeeded.

Must be Enda Stevens week. Another good piece here in today’s Times. Hadn’t realised that Wilder had opted not to extend his Northampton loan after the initial month was up – I’d just assumed his tough advice had been at the end of the season.
