Wenger was lauded for offering the rematch, which was bollocks because the Arsenal board had already told our directors during the game that they weren't willing to win like that.
If anyone was actually at that game (I was) then after the 10 mins of arguing, Arsenal actually shaped up to let us walk the ball into their net, but dickhead Steve Bruce told us to just kick the ball to them from kickoff, so we actually spurned the chance to actually go and get back on level terms and bring them back to BDTBL for a replay.
I blamed Bruce then for that error, and I still blame him to this day.
Arsenal did offer to do the right thing, but his stupid Man U hatred of Arsenal cost us a home replay and quite probably a place in the next round.
I don’t think it’s all down to them not kicking the ball out, it’s more to do with them looking like they were about to kick the ball out but then carrying on.For the 1st ( & hopefully only) time I'm with dirtleedscum on this
Why shouldn't they play on - the referee has the power / responsibility to stop it & didn't deem it necessary / appropriate
Clearly Villa have never heard (understood) 'Play to the whistle'
Biggest irony was the thick CH (in team of season instead of O'Connell & Egan) didn't comprehend / wasn't good enough to tackle 'Codger' on his stroll forward to equalise
Similar 'philosophy re the Arse game
Why should we expect the ball back - WE put the ball out because of injury to OUR lad (Morris ?) & then Cabbage head embarrasses himself (& us) by getting 'titty lip on' due to his (Manure) sense of entitlement & self importance - wanker
David Dein was the instigator - if memory serves.

That’s a bit harsh, Adomah’s only 31.For the 1st ( & hopefully only) time I'm with dirtleedscum on this

Agree that it was good PR by Bielsa knowing full well autos was gone, but I'm not so sure the Leeds players will be necessarily back in the good books. Looking forward to the re-match, as I expect that will be the PO final.Cheating Wenger still lives off that "sportsmanship" 20 years later, so it worked out well for him.
Its also good work by Bielsa - had he won 1-0 - the playoffs still beckoned and Leeds upgraded cheating reputation would have fired up all the other playoff contenders against them. Now its no more and the cheating players are back in the good books.

this is turning out to be a monumental screw up by them. Good job they didn't go mad spending loads of money this season, hang on.........Well Bamford has got a 2 match ban for his acting so he might not be there to spice things up.

It's ok, you can let it go now.
Look at the him now, karma's a bitch![]()
Maybe if he’d replaced Adams, Keown, Vieira and Petite properly it wouldn’t have been a problem. No surprise to hear Wenger wanted long throw ins banned.
