Arsene Wenger hypocrite

Wenger was lauded for offering the rematch, which was bollocks because the Arsenal board had already told our directors during the game that they weren't willing to win like that.

That’s right, and he took all the credit.

If anyone was actually at that game (I was) then after the 10 mins of arguing, Arsenal actually shaped up to let us walk the ball into their net, but dickhead Steve Bruce told us to just kick the ball to them from kickoff, so we actually spurned the chance to actually go and get back on level terms and bring them back to BDTBL for a replay.
I blamed Bruce then for that error, and I still blame him to this day.
Arsenal did offer to do the right thing, but his stupid Man U hatred of Arsenal cost us a home replay and quite probably a place in the next round.

For the 1st ( & hopefully only) time I'm with dirtleedscum on this

Why shouldn't they play on - the referee has the power / responsibility to stop it & didn't deem it necessary / appropriate
Clearly Villa have never heard (understood) 'Play to the whistle'
Biggest irony was the thick CH (in team of season instead of O'Connell & Egan) didn't comprehend / wasn't good enough to tackle 'Codger' on his stroll forward to equalise
Similar 'philosophy re the Arse game
Why should we expect the ball back - WE put the ball out because of injury to OUR lad (Morris ?) & then Cabbage head embarrasses himself (& us) by getting 'titty lip on' due to his (Manure) sense of entitlement & self importance - wanker

I don’t think it’s all down to them not kicking the ball out, it’s more to do with them looking like they were about to kick the ball out but then carrying on.

Coupled with the fact that they’d kicked the ball out minutes before when a Leeds player went down injured. No sympathy at all for Leeds in this situation.

That’s a bit harsh, Adomah’s only 31.

Parlour mentioned it on TS this morning and said words to the effect of

"we should have just let them score. I took the throwing and threw it back to the GK but Kanu didn't understand"

Agree with Wiz and Loughborough above. Villa had 5 mins earlier kicked the ball out while attacking, and it looked very much like they were about to kick it out then played it through.

Cheating Wenger still lives off that "sportsmanship" 20 years later, so it worked out well for him.
Its also good work by Bielsa - had he won 1-0 - the playoffs still beckoned and Leeds upgraded cheating reputation would have fired up all the other playoff contenders against them. Now its no more and the cheating players are back in the good books.

Agree that it was good PR by Bielsa knowing full well autos was gone, but I'm not so sure the Leeds players will be necessarily back in the good books. Looking forward to the re-match, as I expect that will be the PO final.

Well Bamford has got a 2 match ban for his acting so he might not be there to spice things up.

this is turning out to be a monumental screw up by them. Good job they didn't go mad spending loads of money this season, hang on.........

Bert was right being Seaman that day.
The twat should have thrown the ball in his own goal to even things up.

He'd have been a footballing hero instead of the pony tailed dick that he will be forever remembered as.

And as for his save against Pesky in the semi final, Bert made better saves than that in Ecclesfield Park.
