Happy to loan out J Emmanuel Thomas and Bartley to Doncaster/us... then mysteriously recall and re-loan them to a higher level. Fair enough, their players etc... but its dishonourable and reeks all the same.

I have mixed feelings about the "Arse" Media darlings, who are not afraid to put a sneeky boot in. They play a passing game but not as well as Barca, and now new American owners have taken over, I wonder what may happen to Arse N Vinegar. Yep Pup, on reflection it was another dishounarble thing to recall those two players. Can see them winning sweet FA in the years to come.

Didn't we agree to end the Bartley loan? He was hear for the season but MA decided against keeping him when we brough in Collins.

As for the Donny one, I really don't know.

I'm just glad to get the opportunity to enhance our squad with players from clubs like Arsenal.

I'd much rather we tried to get a player at the start of their career from Arsenal than one at the tail-end of theirs from Birmingham - Jay Emmanuel-Thomas would have been much better than Marcus Bent.

If I was Micky Adams, I'd be asking about loaning Emmanuel Frimpong next season; he could be a driving force in the middle.

No. Rangers asked about Bartley a few hours before the transfer window closed, and Wenger got him recalled and on his way to Ibrox within the hour.

Nothing we could have done about, and we was suddenly left a defender short and that is why Collins was brought in, as he was the one of the few players available on a free after the window had slammed shut

I'm not sure it was Arsenal's decision...

Sheffield United manager Micky Adams has said it was Arsenal defender Kyle Bartley's decision to end his season-long loan spell at the Blades.
The Arsenal defender opted for a loan move to Rangers when the Blades signed Neill Collins from Leeds on Monday.

Adams told BBC Radio Sheffield: "We wanted to bring in another centre-half and Kyle felt it would maybe hinder his selection and wanted to leave.
"If people want to leave the club, I'm not going to stand in their way."

Bartley was in his second loan spell at Bramall Lane, having originally joined for three months in February 2010.

As Houso's quote shows, this is false.

Thats just the way i seemed to rememeber it.

The Collins signing says to me that he was signed to give us someone else who could play centre half in that case.

I don't think the signing of Collins would have any real impact on Kyle Bartley's decision to leave as he was more or less assured of a automatic starting spot at that point.

I think the loss of Bartley is down to both the player and Arsenal, who when it became clear of Rangers interest couldn't get him out of the Lane quick enough.

Sorry, can't agree mate. Think Bartley saw it as Adams bringing in 'his man' which he was perfectly entitled to do. Bartley wanted assured first team football and so requested the move. I'm 99.999% certain that Collins came in before Bartley left. The fact that Adams has come and pretty much said that's exactly the case makes me think that's what happened - he hardly needed to defend Arsenal did he?

Either way, the signing of Collins was possibly the worst decision by and SUFC manager in all my time of watching the Blades.

That contradicts what you said in your previous post.

Micky Adams says it did.

Shelton, Fathi and Seck say hello, Houso (not that this makes the Collins signing a good one!)

Topped only by continuing to play him long after everyone else saw how shit he was. I can only suspect he keeps getting a game because Adams can't quite believe how bad he is and just needs to keep seeing it.

He gets a game because if Adams drops him that will be equivalent to admitting he's wrong, and he clearly won't do so, which is another bad sign for next season.

I think AW would have recalled Bartley after he realised we were no good this season. At the end of the day he is an Arsenal player, and AW probably doesn't want him playing with such a substandard group of players like we have had this season. It does nothing for his development.

Agree with Balham, Frimpong would be a good. Also Mark Randall, and Gavin Hoyte (who could replace Nos).

@ Sirius - I think Arsenal may win more than us in the years to come...

i wouldn't bank on it.. not with their defence.. until wenger that realises that goalkeepers are as important as strikers they'll go nowhere

Such a shame Sunderland didn't act in such a dishonourable fashion with Nosworthy !
