Why are folk posting threads about some other shitty team the the other side of the city in GBC?
GBC is Blades stuff.
Let the treads die or can we ask Admin to move them to the relevant section (which would be the bin if I had my choice) but I suppose it ought to be Other Football and Sport.

The thing is, I hate them so much I try to ignore everything about them. They're a black mark on my city and any reminder of them makes my skin crawl. So yes I too woulf prefer the subject to be put into a dark corner somewhere.

There's a difference between confidence and just plain stupidity.

I'm not alone in feeling confident that we will go up automatically but some threads emerging recently regarding what we're going to do to Sheffield Wednesday next season are just stupid.

Let CW, AK and the boys do the business on the pitch and the rest will take care of itself surely?

Any thread emerging from people who should know better about next seasons derby games, ticket allocation and prices, first goalscorer, where to park around Hillsborough, how much is a tram ticket to Leppings Lane, attendance estimates and will we relegate the pigs, should be consigned to the fuckin bin where they belong.

Rant over.

Is there anyone else that doesn't really care that much about Wednesday?

I want us to do better than them and I love the derbies, but I wouldn't say I feel actual hatred when I think about them.

I think rivalries are really fun, but some fans are genuinely convinced that half of the city is a shower of cunts. I mean if that were literally the case, a person who would like living in a city populated largely by cunts would probably be a bit of a cunt, which of course would mean that everybody in Sheffield is a cunt...and I love Sheffield, so either getting too worked up over the rivalry is inherently contradictory and daft, or I'm a cunt.

The Wednesday threads are purely reactionary. If they post about us (insecurely), we will post about them.

Fuck the pigs

This is getting ridiculous. I think we have a great chance of going up, but all this talk about stuffing the pigs is getting out of hand.

P. S. Does anybody know which pubs we'll be drinking in before the game?

If we do go up, i'm certainly not scared of them. From what i've seen this season, the Championship is hardly anything to cack our pants about - some of the football i've seen has been complete gash.

"a black market my city", why are you from south Barnsley??

"We're Sheffield united we'll drink where we want".:p

I think you'll be surprised. Its a different beast to what we are used to. Its normal for teams to spend £10m+ on a player now, players you've never heard of.
If we do have some money, we'll need to spend it.

Can also take heart from what the dingles have done and see what happens.

Yeah we can definitely take heart from the Dingles success up there. I agree it would be way more difficult to go up automatically due to the money required etc, but for, say, a mid-table first season finish i'm not so sure it's as bad as people (mainly pigs) are making out.

I wouldn't say it was normal to spend £10m on a player, Newcastle and Villa have done it but I'm guessing they are blowing their parachute payments in the hope of an immediate return, so not what they were intended for at all!

OK, maybe not £10m but there are some obsence fees bouncing about for players worth nowhere near that. It puts the John Brayford fee into perspective.

  • Shane Duffy £5m (Brighton)
  • Matej Vydra £8m (Derby)
  • Adam Reach £5m (SWFC)
  • James Chester £8m (Villa)
  • Alex Pritchard £8m (Norwich)
  • Sergi Canos £3m (Norwich)
  • Isaac Hayden (£2.5m (Newcastle)
It's the bottom 3 that annoy me most there. Youth team players from Premier League teams. How can they demand such fees having not featured for Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal respectively?
