Is he good enough?

SCOTLAND boss Alex McLeish is on the trail of Sheffield United left-back Chris Armstrong.

Armstrong, 24, was born in Newcastle but his grandparents are from Scotland and McLeish has been tipped off about his availability by United No.2 Stuart McCall.

The hard-tackling full-back, who has impressed for the Blades in the Premiership this season, would fill a problem vacancy for Scotland.

Don't know how good the competition is for his position, but I wouldn't say he's been that impressive for us since returning from his latest injury.
Thought he was great earlier in the season when he took the position from Unsworth, but lost it a bit lately.

Might do him good to get a call-up though...

i thought he was good when he came back from injury, just not as good this season in the prem.

Don't understand what's happened to Armstrong. Form comes and goes but it's his positional play that worries me and I don't know how someone forgets that aspect of their game.

Thought the U21's below chat didn't matter anymore for being picked in the main national squad. He's better than Graham Alexander who was playing there and he has no left foot what so ever.

Armstrong deserved that chance after what he had been through.

I think he had to decide before he was 21 which country he wanted to play for.

Had it just been a "friendly" I think he would be ok, but he played in a tournament.

And then left it till after he is 21, so basically fucked.
