Are Wednesday...

The most defensively boring shower of shite ever to descend on the Lane since Wilder took over?

I’m trying to think of a team that had less ambition but I can’t think of one. Northampton in League One? Norwich last season? Anybody?

Bury in League 1 were pretty bad but I think we got a late winner. Ebanks Landell?

They reminded me of the worst from league one. Fucking Bury were better than them going forward.

They just defended well and a local lad played a blinder in goal.

If that's your lot Wednesday, good luck. We won't be seeing you in the playoffs this season.

They had to do something to stop the rot, against a team as good or better than the four they'd just got battered by.
Said it earlier in the week, Bristol Rovers lost 9-0 a week before coming to the Lane and we were licking our lips.
We drew that one as well.
They might have been ultra defensive, we might have had 75% of the play with some scintillating stuff at times but we both got a point each.
So, who earned their point more effectively? Them or us?!

Definitely the worst team since we played them last season.

Their first clean sheet of the season. We were poor tonight, don't get this we were unlucky shit.
Sorry you’re talking bollocks mate. We didn’t score but to say we were poor is well frankly bizarre. I can only assume it’s because you’re hurting cus lower league teams get results like this in the cups all the time. We nearly did playing the way of the Pork under Adkins at ManU.

In fairness, both of the last two derbies have been played in rum circumstances.

In the first one, it was Jos' first match and it's difficult to prepare for a game under those circumstances.

This evening Wednesday came not to lose, or rather Jos came not to lose his job.

Anyone who saw the Norwich debacle - and the ensuing fans' showdown with the Chairman - probably would predict the kind of performance we saw from the Owls today.

I think Jos should go, but not having Lee, FF and especially Hooper limits what he can do in the final third.

But for all his scheming, I maintain that had that penalty not been saved then the outcome of this game might have been one for the annals.

Well, it was the most one sided 90 minutes we've had since promotion.

We dominated them even more than last time.

But they got what they came for, again. Only got ourselves to blame for that.

Agree with that. I think if Fleck’s effort early on goes in, or we score the penalty, we probably go on an get a 2 or 3 margin win. Our style of play is often built around creating a perfect chance, and the ref gave us one. Frankly I’m relieved that we didn’t concede anything to make that miss worse. We could have perhaps been better with our substitutions. It reminded me a lot of that Northampton game, and Wilder accepted that given our dominance we could switch reliable Lafferty for the defensive nightmare of Matt Done. We perhaps needed something like that this evening – switching someone that had done nothing wrong in the game to try and turn the screw a little further. Clarke for McGoldrick was not that.

Nope. Their keeper after saving the pen had an easy night. We were poor.

Honestly it felt like we were playing Burton Albion tonight in how they approached the game. A credit to League 1 they were.

Also it would be nice to hit a team on the counter with a bit of pace.[/QUOTE]

Great point you make, but wouldn’t they have to be over the half way line for us to hit them on the break, one of them was building a campfire on the penalty spot in the second half..

But Hooper, FF and Lee are big, big misses for Wednesday.

I mean, the team wouldn't have had a chance of getting to two play-offs without those three.

In fact, I remember FF getting sent off twice in a week and getting a 4-match ban in Carlos' first season.

Wednesday didn't win a game with him out.

Unfortunately we missed Brooks, that's the first time I think ive said that since he left, just need that spark in the final third, it's all we miss, someone fast that can cause issues to allow for shots.

I don’t give a shit who the pigs had or didn’t have, they were the worst team to come to the lane in years and I’ve seen some shite.

I wouldn’t pay to watch that shit every week, it makes for a very boring spectacle in what is meant to be an entertaining sport. The pigs are pathetic and obviously very deluded.

Walsall, Burton and Fleetwood know what to expect next season now.

Don't worry about it, none of the fuckers are man enough or good enough to be a Blade so we're not interested.

I agree we were not unlucky but to say we were poor is simply not true. If we play like that every week BW, we’ll win a lot of games.
