Have to say, that was a pretty impressive 18 Chris penned on yesterday's team sheet.

Looking at the profiles of the bench, it just shows how far we have come:
- Last season's 1st choice keeper
- Utility player with Champ + PL experience and sometime captain
- Man U wide defender/midfielder who some wanted in their first team
- Chesterfield's best player and Top scorer
- Highly rated midfield ball player who was in the Championship last year
- Pacey forward who is developing a habit of scoring from the bench and provides a great alternative to Hanson or Sharp
- Former 20 goal scorer at this level with Rochdale who supports a high pressing game.

Imagine it further strengthened when Chapman returns, a guy with a senior hat-trick this season. And that ignores Clarke being an 18 goal striker as recent as last season.

Even given form and injuries, I think this collective will take some stopping with just 16 games to go. And it's an uneasy feeling being a confident Blades fan!

and that's exactly what I think too. We are the best football team in this division. Bar none. Based on all the games we've played this season, not just one, or two, or three, or seven, or thirteen, or twenty, or twenty six...but based on 30 league games played to date.

It's fascinating to see how some of you reacted to this question. I could have guaranteed that you'd pick out one, or two, games to make your point. My point is simple, it's not about any one game, it's not about the previous three games, it's being able to look at the season as a whole and draw on conclusion based on ALL of it to date.

The conclusion is clear. This doesn't mean we are too good for this league, because we are here on merit! But it does mean that we should be the team amongst all other teams, who have the best chance of getting out of it. And we will.

Before yesterday in the previous three matches, we got 1 point from a possible 9. We were second in the league. Today we are top, but if our nearest rival wins their game in hand we won't be.

Had we won every game of the season, and had an unassailable lead, winning every gamer comfortably then yes. But it the moment, it still feels a bit fragile to me.

I'll take the OP's question a stage further. If we manage to achieve promotion, but find we're one season wonders and return to Div 1, then we are fit for purpose, we're Div 1 quality without a doubt. But should we survive our first season in the Championship, consolidate, and look to move forward, then, and only then, will we have shown we're able to convert finely worded phrases about our intentions into something tangible. The infrastructure's there, but then I guess the same applies to Portsmouth, so no givens, no right to anything, this lead must come from those who seek to drive this club forward. I suspect that should we begin to look the part and show we're worthy Championship members with genuine aspirations higher than the Championship, then McCabe will seek to offload his role in the club. At that point we'll find out if we're in good, progressive hands, and whether we can assume we're a club on the move.
