Are we hosting the Premier League Champions tonight?

I’m fortunate enough to not have to talk to any pigs so I couldn’t really give a shit if we don’t sell out as I don’t have to listen to them grunting about it. Not that I’d give a fuck if I did tbh.

Please explain to me the point of having the policy.

There are 40/50 thousand new students coming to Sheffield every september. Using the policy they cannot go see United.

I went to UNI in Manchester i saw both city and united a few times

Its madness and will cost us money/fans and makes it look embarrassing having empty seats with games like tonight

I know a lad who I used to go to all the Blades matches with and he defected to city in the Adkins years, I've seen him at the lane the last few games. I hope SwissBlade has got someone on the half and half scarf duties tonight in his absence because it's a nailed on sale for you.
I've created a new concept

The "Quart & Quart & Quart & Quart" scarf for football tourists that just can't decide

Tonight i will be rolling out the

Chelsea, Man City, Nigeria and Sheffield United special

Surprised it's not sold out, but at £40 a pop, midweek, after Xmas, streams available...

Still should be a great atmosphere if we can keep them out for the first 15 👊
🔴⚪🔴⚪

Exactly that, I go to every home game I can this season, but missing tonight, I pay for bt at home so I’m missing this one, 40 pound on a midweek when I can watch at home, rather be there but sometimes you have to sit them out, thats when you get your proper value on your ST

Say what you want but if i wasn't a season ticket holder, there's a good chance i wouldn't be paying £40 for tonight when i can go to the local boozer and spend a fraction of that, be warm and be slightly merry which may be needed dependent on the potential outcome.

Regardless of the opposition, the income difference is much more marginal to the club, than it is to the cost difference to a supporter.

Financial circumstances doesn't make you less of a blade in my eyes.

Nothing odd about it.

We sold out our allowed quota of season tickets before full season tickets went on sale.

Premier League rules require us to have a percentage of seats available for single match purchase and I haven't seen any of the stands being extended since last May, so if we were sold out of season tickets in June then we were still sold out in December.
Do you know what the percentage is? There seems to be a lot of seats available for match by match purchase

No I don't know but if you think about 25,000 season tickets (approx) and 3,000 visiting fans then it's going to be about 4,000 seats or about 13% of capacity maximum.

Do we have 25,000 season ticket holders? I don't know but that seems on the high side.
But I can't see why we can't sell that many as 4,000 match day tickets seems reasonable.

If every matchday ticket was £5 less, and the same number of tickets per game were sold, the loss of revenue over the whole season would be the equivalent of one first team players average wage. Just saying like.

But virtually a drop in the ocean when you have £120m tv money to start with.

What was the maximum number of season tickets we could sell and how many did we sell? Genuinely not seen these as official figures.

I do know however that a st holder for 25 years went to the ticket office this week to buy a ticket for the Bournemouth match and was refused and told to wait and see if they do the st buy for a friend.

As it happens the friend is elderly and travelling from Scotland and now won't be going.

Bonkers attitude to selling tickets for a match that will possibly lowest gate of the season.

I don't know exactly but I believe it to be about 25,000 based on numbers quoted before the season, and I don't make the rules.

I'm not really all that bothered about ticket sales as I've been telling Leeds fans for years that you get no points for people through the turnstiles

See above re numbers.

Completely agree about bonkers sales policies too.

Bournemouth won't sell out, tickets will go general sale, but people need time to plan.

Don't recall the club quoting a figure. If it's 25000 we'd have to have sold maybe 9000 on the kop and nearly all JS stand and then around 10,000 on the south stand and the corner.
That seems a bit high.

It may be a bit high.

I'm old and my memory isn't what it once was, especially for unimportant stats but that is the number I recall being mentioned in the summer.

If you want a forensic analysis of ticket sales I'm afraid to say that you're talking to the wrong man

My three year old daughter has read this thread and thinks some of the stories are ‘somewhat dubious’.

Don't need a forensic analysis but am intrigued by how many we did actually sell and what the PL rule is. I've never seen the rule.
If we only sell out one game this season there is a good argument for being able to sell more season tickets if the demand is there.

this is why historic bit of football is still misleading because man city have only been at this level for 8 years. Man Utd Liverpool Arsenal will be sellouts because they been doing it for decades. but i am amazed as this the biggest home game of the season for me. when you think on the quality on the pitch

Most seats still available are Restricted View.

South stand has sold out now. Surprised the Kop hasn't yet.

Bramall Lane has 80 left +57 RV

John Street has 16 seats left that aren't restricted view but they're all singles so adults can't use them without a child.

Pukka Corner 9 left that aren't restricted view.

There's less than 3-400 remaining, be a good crowd. Hope we get behind them from the off.
Don’t be so positive and reasonable please.

Why are you *ucking bothered? By kick off (other than shit seats) we will have sold out OR are you a pig?????
