The edge.
Given the statement shown in the `stir` yesterday that we are 5 weeks behind has got me thinking.
Last season, and the season before that we were stuttering in close season in the transfer market, this close season has been probably the most dull in record.
Whats the crack?were skint,we know that but other skint teams are making movement in the market even crap teams are pulling players in on freebies.
Im worried that within a month,Kmac, quinn and willo will probably be off with hindsight that the best that we can replace with`within our budget`have already gone within our realistic market.
Ive had this rant twice before, but its typical blades-lacklustre in every department.
wake up.

Oh and before i get the `wait and see what kmac and willo are deciding to do crap`,that should be cleared in my opinion, sorted by now.

Stop flapping man, it will either happen or it won't. I would hate to be your heart rate.

I don't buy this 5 weeks behind bollocks.

You would hope that a month before the end of the season that plan a- championship and plan b- league 1 scenarios wouldve been at least put together I draft.,

The players to released would've been known. the contract expiries would've been known. So a number of replacements should've been identified.

And didn't the play offs take place 2-3 weeks after the season end? So why 5 weeks?

Fail to plan, plan to fail.

Finally, even if Wilson hasn't experienced play off failure before, the club have. At least one person would and should know how important it is to plan

It's just an embarrassing excuse. DW is in danger of becoming McCabe's yes man.

Why do you think con man McCabe hired him ??? and for that matter every manager since Warnock................... managers with balls walk out of this club like Bruce and Spackman did. Different times, different chairmen/owners but same owd United, never got two ha'pennies to scratch our arses with. Lets hope this years excuse is a bit more original than the fax machine breaking down.

It's just an embarrassing excuse. DW is in danger of becoming McCabe's yes man.

Why?

One of the things that has become clear about DW is that he is fairly tight-lipped around the media - papers or radio - so it's unlikely that he'll say anything until deals are signed and sealed - he'll not get into open speculation just to please the fans - - no matter how anxious we might be getting.

He needs to bottom out where things sit re the contracts of players he wants to keep - the timing of which is to a large degree in the hands of the players and their agents (who are no doubt trying to find a more lucrative deal elsewhere) - before he can know what positions he needs to strengthen and therefore which players to move for.

Likewise - for positions where we know we need to bring players in - he needs to know what salaries he can offer, which are will depend on how much he has left in the kitty after the offers made to out of contract players he wants to keep.

And that's before we even consider what his plans might be for promoting lads from the academy to the first team. We may consider some of the kids to not be ready yet - but DW and his staff may have other opinions.

I don't know what deadline the club has set for out of contract players to make their intentions clear - but I'd expect no statement out of the Lane before then.

On a positive note - the fact that the out of contract players haven't openly stated they want to leave (thereby sending a "come and get me message" to other clubs) suggests they are hoping to stay if the contracts (money?) can be agreed.

How does this make DW into KMcC's yes-man?
