I keep reading that we have signed these good players and that some think our squad is actually stronger than last season. Is it? IS IT?

Cuvellier doesn't seem to have done much of anything. Baxter seems to be percieved as a good player because he did well at Oldham, but other than shit corners, ive not seen much. Some players have totally vanished, such as Mcginn and the other Mcwhatshisface. I do like Brandy, but am not convinced he is doing enough either.

By all accounts Lappin was awful last night and Taylor hasn't scored a league goal. I do think another manager would get more out of this team, but maybe not as much as some expect.

In all fairness you obviously don't know much about football. If you watch the small things Baxter and Cuvelier do and the balls they look to play you will see that both have good footballing brains. They may not shine out to you but I think they are both good footballers and will continue to develop and add to the team. Taylor has potential and will benefit from being able to play next to King for a time. Brandy offers something different and has a tenacity that is needed to lift the team at times.

Lappin was crap though. What Hill must have thought day on the bench I don't know.

In all fairness, that's when i stopped reading.

I think we would see a much more effective Cuvelier with us playing with two up front. You can see he is a very clever player, but with just one up front his options are limited. For example if you have say Miller and King up front I think we would see the different range of passes he has in is locker. Potentially we have a very good player with him, but only if he is given the chance to show it.

Same can be said with Baxter, I think somebody else said it earlier, I thought he looked much more dangerous playing with two up front. He seems to get a little bit lost when the midfield is so congested.

I think our midfield is much stronger than last season, and that for me is why McDonald didn't have the best season last year. For me the sole reason for that was because he was always going to be a marked man. He was the one good thing about our midfield last year so teams were always going to target him and double up. Whereas the year before (and this I believe was the main reason behind our success other than Ched's goals) we had the likes of Quinn, McDonald, Williamson and even Lowton to an extent, they were all excellent players for this division and teams couldn't afford to double up on all of those players so we always had an outlet to create something. It's the same this year (although I realise the midfield is nowhere near that quality) You've got Brandy who can create something out of nothing and the same can be said for Baxter and Cuvelier. This is why we need to be playing with two strikers. I genuinely believe if we stick with two upfront we would be scoring for fun. I'd like us to give this team a go (when players are fit of course)

McMahon Collins Maguire McFadzean
Brandy Cuvelier Baxter Hall
Miller King

Many apologise if this makes little sense I've just finished a 17 hour shift. So more than likely I will come back to edit this in the afternoon.

I am not sure why Cuvellier is getting the grief here. He is a young lad and wins his tackles. He is always looking for a pocket of space for the pass out of defence. personally I am not sure if he fits a midfield 2. We are killing Baxters career because he isn't a midfielder and Lappin looked short on confidence. Brandy winds me up because he doesn't wear studs and likes to dive. The open net against MK Dons followed by his sending off might be the thing he ends up getting remembered for. We need to help these players and make them more comfortable.

It should be rocket science for Weir to put a team out that can play 4-4-2 and his favoured 4-3-3 quite easily.

I would like to see

Cuvellier Coady Doyle Murphy/Brandy
-----------King Baxter

just easily be

...................Coady Doyle
....Cuvellier.......Baxter.........Murphy/Brandy
........................King

On friday we ended up with baxter in the centre of the park and Coady playing in off the right wing more than a central midfielder.

We just aren't doing these new guys any favours

I was gaging opinion. But if you're going to open your post with a line like that, I can only assume you're very young, so ill refrain from expletives.
