Don't know what it means but reports are now suggesting early July......

From the BBC..........

Sheffield United may face a wait to discover their relegation fate from a Premier League arbitration panel.

The Blades claim West Ham should have been docked points for breaking transfer rules over the signings of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.

West Ham stayed up at the Blades' expense on the final day of the season, leading to Sheffield United's appeal.

A verdict was expected to be announced before the end of June, but is now likely to be made in early July.

West Ham had earlier been fined £5.5m by the Premier League for their handling of the deals for the two Argentina internationals.

The arbitration tribunal can order a new disciplinary commission be set up to review the West Ham case, or rule that the Premier League handled the affair completely by the book.

A third option would be for the tribunal to declare that there are no grounds to order a new disciplinary commission for West Ham but that Sheffield United could have a case for compensation - but that verdict too would open a can of worms by effectively saying that the original commission acted inappropriately.

What a surprise that is.

It only means 1 thing the decision aint getting over turned and now im thinking we may get lucky to even get money from it.

Keep putting it off until pretty much the new season starts.

The whole process stinks.

And on tuesday they will say we will find out wednesday and on wednesday they will say we will find out on thursday....and so on.

Then before we know it its august and the season has started.

The whole process is a complete and utter joke.

they get paid to do there jobs by a deadline... why cant they do it?

Maybe because it isn't a cut and dried case?

You'd all be whinging if they rushed it and missed something important to our case... and a few more days isn't going to make a great deal of difference when we've waited as long as we have.

i know... but i get paid to do jobs on time. if there not done on time i loose money. i sometimes have to work over to get it done for a set deadline... why cant these.

My worry is that this delay may be the PL's way of not kicking the people of sheffield while they are down, at least the red and white half.

I know that football pails into insignificance in the face of some horrendous incidents that have taken place during the flooding but i fail to see how the panel can fail to come to a decision after 2 weeks.

I just want this whole thing over with.

the main factor is...

The Premier League claimed there was no case to answer and that we were wasting our time by even raising it. Given that its dragging on and on, it's clear that they are talking out of their arses and making their original statement look more and more stupid.

True, the whole affair has made them look ameaturish beyond belief. Whatever the verdict, it will be interesting to see how they try to justify (or distance themselves from) the decision.

Theres a rumour going round that the arbitration hearing sent the decision back to the PL who convened a new commission to hear the original case again, the decision of which will be announced on Tuesday. Apparently everyone wanted to keep it quite until it was done and dusted.

Once again my query is if it's so complex how did they sort the Tevez contract out in 24 hours to allow him to carry on playing?

From the Daily Mail..............

Sheffield United remained in limbo last night after the arbitration panel who were finally expected to deliver a verdict on the Carlos Tevez affair failed to meet their own deadline.

Legal complexities are being blamed for the hold up and the panel are now not expected to reveal anything until next week at the earliest.

United plc chairman Kevin McCabe said: "The fact that it is taking so long is, at least, a recognition that the case we put forward is being taken seriously."

Your setting me up for a real body blow if a negaive verdict is announced now foxy!

Thanks for the info though, i suppose this would explain the delay.

Just to bring you back down to earth :D

Guardian Unlimited said:
Sheffield United and the Premier League have been given no explanation about the absence of a verdict in the arbitration panel's considerations of the Carlos Tevez affair. Sir Philip Otton's three-man panel adjourned until the end of June before delivering its decision over the initial hearing's processes.

On the last working day of this month yesterday Otton was remaining silent as to when he would produce his findings. Both parties expressed bewilderment at a report that suggested that Otton would deliver his verdict on Tuesday.

The Football Association has delayed publication of its new agents' regulations for a week to 10 days. Though the new document, set to come into force on September 1, was due to be promulgated yesterday, fears of a legal challenge from agents and the Law Society prompted another round of the extended consultation process

in the People yesterday that tosser Scudamore is supposedly wanted in the U.S. to take a similar role in the Major Soccer League. He has already got a luxury property in "The Hamptons" which he splashed out on earlier this year

United have been called back to the arbitration panel today and Sky will be reporting from there live.

SCUDAMORE MULLING OVER THE BECKS STEP
1 July 2007
IS Richard Scudamore about to follow David Beckham to the States?

Whispers reach Confidential's lug holes that the chief executive of the Premier League is growing increasingly frustrated with the rigours of running our top flight.

Last season alone he was forced to deal with the fallout from such issues as the Carlos Tevez affair and the bung enquiry, the former of which remains unresolved and is eating well into the summer break.

The powers that be within Major League Soccer are keen for him to take up a similar role across the pond. With Becks' megabucks arrival, Scudamore could be just the man to help the Yanks finally establish football as a serious professional sport.

Earlier this year, Scudamore splashed out on a luxury property in The Hamptons, the New York State playground for America's rich and famous.

You've just been playing with us Mr Fox:D

Seeing as we've been called to the abitration today we could know the result and now be able to plan our next events whether it be premiership pre-seaon or our next appeal:p

Anyone else think they're just dragging it out for the sake of it.
(I don't really think this, it just seems like it).

FFS just tell us yes or no

i know... but I get paid to do jobs on time. If they're not done on time I lose money. I sometimes have to work over to get it done for a set deadline... why can't these?

There wasn't a set deadline and the full ramifications of the word "should" come into practice here.

They never said we would hear a verdict by the end of June, they said we should.

He's a tosser and as they would say in his apparent new home... period.

I'm just praying it's all over with by the end of this week

Damn right... fed up of this now :D

Well Sky have never gone live to the arbitration meeting and are now just saying the decision is likely tomorrow.

We'll brace ourselves from the shandy drinking influx then :D
