Seriously? i dont care if he played/managed wednesday!

We just sacked a die hard blade and look where that got us! Wilson's got a record of promotions and playoff appearances and has recent experience of the lower leagues and will be able to spy some good cheap talent for us.

I mean, i knoiw we've got a reputation as the most fickle prima donna fans to uphold but jesus this even suprised me!

So, quoting Mr T: Quit yo' jibberjabba fools!

Not too bothered about that personally either, but don't find his record very impressive. And at a time where we're going to rebuild, patience and goodwill would be useful, Wilson will be under pressure to get results straight away I feel. Is he known for giving youngsters a chance in the first team?

Dont give a shit that he is ex pig. I care whether he is better than what we had. In my opinion they are about as bad as each other so that would make it a no in my book. Then again I didn't think sacking Blackwell would lead anywhere good either.

He's just a poor manager.

Done one decent thing and that was nearly 15 years ago. It just holds no logic.

I've said before that I actually don't mind Wilson himself, I even liked him when he was at the Dingles but he shouldn't have even been considered given his recent record.

Quickfix Micky shouldn't have been considered either but the 'Give him a chance; He's a Blade; Upanatem Brigade are now in the carpark protesting about a manager before he plays a single game.

Hypocrites and Numpties.

Nicky Eaden was interviewed on RS this morning. He said Wilson brought some youngsters through at Barnsley and was good at taking the pressure off them by making sure all the pressure was on him (that will be quite easy this season).

Eaden also said that Wilson's philosophy was all about keeping the ball but also using it with purpose. He said that he could never remember Barnsley going away from home and looking to shut up shop, they always looked to score goals and win games.

A Hartlepool player who was/is a Blades fan was telling a friend of mine recently that he thought Wilson was a very good manager and would be a great appointment for the Blades.

Pinchy, for once we sing from the same hymn sheet! Some of the drivel from supposed adults(or are they?) on here is frankly, quite sickening.
But hey ho, this is an internet forum, so what can one expect?

Wouldn't have been my pick but i guess he has a s good a chance as anyone else of achioieving something, then again?

I reckon you might see stuff that pleases your discerning eye next season! :-)

Do you not think this was the straw that broke the camels back for these hypocrites and numptys you fondly speak off

I think mores the point is that Wilson stood aside as his Swindon team was dismantled. The other applicants probably made demands like "can I employ 5 or 6 experienced Pro's".

Whatever his credentials, there's real doubt he'll get the chance to demonstrate them. The current crop are overpaid shyte. The next crop aren't, on the hole, ready yet. We're in for a tough season and we needed a United front. We could hardly have done worse.

Well it's good to hear some encouraging views. When the initial frustrations have been vented (only natural) I'm sure people will accept him if he does well. It's probably good if he and Pembo share the same football philosophy, hope they can work well together.

Another thing though, we always seem to dish out three year contracts for managers, what's the argument against Wilson's appointment being a one year contract where the club reserves the right to extend it by one or two years?

I'd have thought a two year apppointment would have been sensible with an automatic one year extension if he finishes in the top half next season.

Here here, lets get behind him. He lead Swindon to a play off final in this league last year, had his two leading scorers leave and struggled. Most sides would struggle taking Austin & Paynter out of their team.

Lets judge after 20 games, ex pig who cares if he takes us up twice, Lambert did it, maybe Wilson can. :D

So the proposed protest has made The Sun. IF it goes ahead as planned no doubt we'll see the numpties on the telly tonight.

Over the years there have been a few occasions when I have been embarrassed to be a Blade.

I've never been ashamed to be a Blade - until now.

I agree Broomhill.

I'm not overjoyed with the appointment (in fact I think it's bloody stupid), but a protest is a bit sad and pathetic - ultimately serving no purpose. Not like McCabes gonna sack him. Nor should he if he truly thinks Wilson is the right man to turn us around.

Best we at least try and get behind him now. However difficult some may find it.
