Madine overstretched and was substituted. Freeman hobbled off looking as though it wasn’t vinegar wetting his chips. Baldock has a recurrence of previous injury issues, and Captain Scarlet himself, JOC, has been out for a couple of games now.

Yet a quick scan of Football Heaven and the official site reveals no update. Can anyone shed light, or invent a good rumour?

Todays Star:

Sheffield United expect injured duo Jack O'Connell and George Baldock to be back in contention for this weekend's trip to West Bromwich Albion after manager Chris Wilder welcomed “some difficult decisions" ahead of the key clash. United will also have Chris Basham available again for the trip to the Hawthorns after he completed his two-match suspension, while Wilder could be boosted by the availability of O’Connell and Baldock as the Blades prepare to face one of their rivals for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

It’s not conclusive of course, but The Machine didn’t mention any injury in his post-match RS interview. That said, he wasn’t asked any such question either.

I still have a paper cut on my little pinky. Thought I was out for a few games but luckily West Brom and Wednesday are on Sky so I can recover at home while watching. Bit of TLC, a few paracetamol and a lot of vitamin C and I reckon I'll be right as rain for Rotherham. Thanks for checking.

Looks like full squad to pick from. We have to put best 11 available from start at WBA. Wilder’s going to have a right problem picking team for saturday.

Madine did look injured when he went off, I also noticed he was wearing some kinesiology tape around the knee area which would suggest an existing injury.

JOC has Beattie flu .

Personally would play Baldock against west brom then Freeman for the Rotherham/Wendy game if he's available, Freeman would terrorise their defence

But, who are these 11 players??
I'm pretty sure they include, Hendo, Egan, Fleck and Stevens, but, as we saw against Reading, we have atleast 18 to choose from.

He did say 'I hurt myself trying to make a tackle at 4-0 which I probably shoudn't have done' but yeah, didn't sound like an injury. Then again, neither he nor the club are likely to broadcast it.

The beauty now is that we have cover and not only that but very good cover. No disresepct to the players who have filled in in past seasons but Saturday for example, we rest our top scorers and bring in a £15M strike force.

The interview i listened to Madine himself was commenting on giving 100% and mentioned the tackle which he got injured on. But as you say no further probing from the interviewer.

The way Madine mentioned it would suggest nothingbto worry about. But as it was radio i couldn't see his body language.

Hendo
Basham
Egan
JOC
Stevens
Fleck
Norwood
Sharp

Then it's

Baldock or Freeman
Duffy or Dowell
McGoldrick or Madine

Impressive as Hogan may have been against Reading, there's no case for dropping Sharp and as impressive as Crainie has been, I can't see any way Bash doesn't come back in.

Apart from the 4-0 thrashing of Reading, without eather in the starting 11 you mean?

Granted, WBA are far better, and it's a much more important game table wise, but, as shown in a few games this season, the players coming in are trying to make an impression, and they play some really good football.
This is why Wilder wants competition for places, and it's been paying off.
That said, Wilder will pick who he deems to be his strongest on the day, but I wouldn't be suprised if there are 1 or 2 changes to the norm.

There is even less of a case for ‘dropping’ Madine.

I expect the same team that started at Villa and finish the job to get that twat faced monkey off our back

But I would bring mcgoldrick in for madine personally

Stevens, Mousset and Ampadu back in the squad so should fill a bench now 🤣

Robinson out long term alongside Berge and O'Connell.

No mentions of Baldock and shock horror Rodwell.

When was the last update on O'Connell? I know Wilder said February at one point, and then mentioned a setback. I assume it's no longer February, but an update would be nice.

He’s said recently that JOC isn’t far away from starting training, then in his pre-match he said “it’s complicated”.
