When the first wilder out campaign will start? Could sense a few getting restless and sharpening their knives out for him this evening. Don't take this as a start of it as I'm a believer in giving wilder a chance..

Tomorrow night when Brian the Blade calls Football Heaven.

No.

Keep telling you. The manager is not the problem.

I agree it's not the managers imo it's all down to mcabe

Losing 3-0 at home to Southend is not down to McCabe. You can blame him if you like for being down here this long or whatever, but tonight is not on McCabe. Just allows others to have excuses

Sometimes they are.

11/12 - Genuine bad luck - Ched sent down.

12/13 - McCabe - poor decision making in sacking Wilson.

13/14 - Weir + McCabe - combination of a lack of budget and clueless recruitment.

14/15 - Clough - given more than enough funds for promotion, which he wasted on poor players.

15/16 - Adkins - despite the above holding everything back, Adkins given enough funds for progress on 5th in the shape of 5 highly expensive signings.

16/17 - McCabe - lack of budget, limiting Wilder to a lower quality of target.

So by my calculations, McCabe to blame for 2 out of the 5 seasons spent in league one so far.

Looks like he's going to make it 3 out of 6.

In answer to the op. Yes I have an idea and I am going all bullet point on you all

  • Let's play some football and stop putting square pegs in round holes.
  • You can stick 442 up your arris for a start. We are going 4-2-3-1 which Wilder fell into at Northampton after moving from, yes you have guessed it 442
  • Coutts.. liked what I saw in the 2nd half. Partner him with Fleck and let them dictate play from deep until we find someone who can play like that on a regular basis. What we need from our deep lying midfield 2 are players that are able to cover full back positions when they bomb on, but be able to pass a ball.
  • Put Basham at the back instead of Wilson.
  • Play either Sharp or Clarke as the front man. Let them both have a half each and see who is suited better.
  • 3 Attacking midfielders. I can safely say Duffy is not a traditional winger so let's move him inside and with the current squad goes with Scougall and Chapman.
  • Get the full backs attacking. causing overlaps. When in possession I want to see them up inline with the oppositions fullbacks allowing more space for the attacking 3. When Ball is lost, one of deeplying midfielders covers and one of the attacking 3 drops in to cover him.
I am available Thursday or Friday but can't travel Saturday.

Utter lack of direction and strategy from above means every manager we pick is effectively hitting the reset button and handcuffed by a squad that doesn't match him. There is no sense of progress or consistency in appointments.

Clough was allowed to sign over twenty players in a season. Then Adkins gets to sign hardly any and is roundly criticised for failing with a terrible squad.

In spite of a huge squad there is no balance and we spend a large portion of the Summer without a recognised centre back at the club. Wilder brings in half a dozen players in order to completely overhaul the style of play, and the result so far is a side that doesn't look like it's met before.

Look at the criteria the board listed before it appointed Adkins: a footballing manager with a quick passing style who had experience and a track record of promotions at this level and the one above. Now look at the appointment just a season later: a guy who's never been at this level before, and takes a direct, back to basics approach to the game.

Changing managers happens. If one under performs all clubs make changes. What they don't do is completely change the direction and ethos of the club every five minutes and wonder why there's no progress.

I recall McCabe at the first Handsworth fans forum absolutely on point with the Swansea model.
Nice one Kev.
