Anthony Gerrard always looks solid and strong when I've seen him against us. Think he scored the winner for MK Dons against us a season or two ago.
As good or better than our current pairing duo.

Which is why Doyle was mentioned, because it was the Doyle that plays CF for Chezzie (Eoin) and would, therefore, be up against our CB's on Saturday.

Since its late in the day on Thursday and still not completed it getting to smell decidedly of fish, this one.
We were supposed to be close to signing a defender and if it is Gerard how come it has not closed by now?

1 month as opposed to 3 months suggests to me that it's the player that wants this term and not us - As stated before NC was supposed to be wanting 93 day loan moves with a view to permanent to carry over past the New Year - so why only 1 month? It's not as though it's a stop gap to a player coming back from injury. My guess is that he is not keen on dropping a division, wants games but is not prepared to tie himself down to a third division club. NC has suggested he takes on a month to see how it goes in the hope of persuading him to stay for longer.

He would be a decent player at this level - add strength and character to the team - IF he wants to play in League 1 again.

Top league one centre half I'd imagine, don't know how he did on loan at Oldham last season though in fairness.
Tough tackling, kick and head everything, and another scouser in the dressing room.

Don't know how much better we could get than that to be honest, he's certainly not worse than what we've got.

I'd give him a year with the option of a second. See if he's still got it, he's only 29 after all.
