the username is a bit of a giveaway as regards age, he was my first real blades hero although I can recall seeing Doc Pace, Ronnie Simpson et all.
I have recently returned to Sheffield after 40 years and have enjoyed having a season ticket again for the last 6 seasons. Frustration and disappointment is second nature to Blades and I dont expect this to change anytime soon.
Anyway heres to a lively interactive and busy forum.

hey up mick ................. yer must be really owd ! :D
can yer remember Tony Currie ? was he any good ?

an one last question: who owns the freehold to BDTBL ?

Welcome Mick...we are the same era I think. I just remember seeing Jimmy Hagan...great player. Other great Blades....Joe Shaw (best uncapped centre half ever) Graham Shaw, Len Badger. Doc Pace ( Hendo not fit to clean his boots) and that fabulaous keeper, Alan Hodgkinson. As far as Currie is concerned Beighton ...he was masterful. I do not like to use the word hero for footballers but TC was awesome in my opinion. Anyone else remember him sitting on the ball in the centre circle when we were tanning Arsenal at the Lane?
