"We've had another rung up the ladder", we've had "and.......another rung up the ladder" but now we have
"a couple of rungs up the ladder"

Today was a huge step forward for us in not only in league position but in terms of overall performance, style of play and confidence!

For me the current key to success with this team has to be our Midfield at the moment, when they do the basics right and play with attacking confidence the we get something out of the game and for those guilty of bashing Flynn and Murphy based on ability I think you need to sit and scratch your heads now because as said the ability has always been there with those two however I think you need to get it out of them and for some reason Clough has come in and seems to be the man doing so.

As we learnt massively under Weir and to an extent even under Wilson, you can try to your hearts content to play tippy, tappy, fancy football but if style takes priority over substance and you get nothing out of the game then it simply doesn't pay off and you don't win games.

For me today especially early on in the second half but for most of the game we got the balance right. The midfield were again superb and as a whole not only did we get the basics right for the most, we commanded the game and played football around on the deck. I would go as far as saying that the football we played in parts of this game was probably some of the best I have seen the blades play all season. Coming back to what I said above, the balance was spot on today because not only did we play some top football but we also created the chances and put them away with some very well made goals.

I'm not even going to mention individual players today because it isn't fair to do so because overall again it was just a very good game plan, a very good overall individual and team performance and a very deserved 3 points.

I expected us to win today but thought it would have been a really close game. Glad to hear of the convincing team performance and now onto a difficult trip to Walsall. A point there would be great.

Turn it on again and we can beat Walsall, I don't want to jynx things but things have fallen into place a couple of times over the last few weeks. Don't get me wrong Walsall is a tough place for us to go but I am quietly confident we can take something from them if not all 3.

Given where we are and everything, I think that was our best performance since last Boxing day. What impressed me most was the lack of hiding, everyone was prepared to work for everyone else, mistakes were made and by and large covered up. That work ethic has been missing since roughly the Hartlepool game a year ago. If it's not a one off (not been much this season for a number of reasons) and we have an ok JTW, we have a platform from which to climb out of danger and build for next season. I'm glad I went yesterday as I'd pretty much forgotten what it's like coming out at the end with a spring in the step. Onwards.

You chose well. Most of this season we've been dire.

Yesterday I thought we were the best team I've seen all season!

NC is doing a grand job of turning us around.

lots of similarities to the job Grayson has done at Preston and I expect a similar outcome. Comfortable finish in the league this year and right in the mix next year.

My only hope is that we don't rush signings in the JTW. I'd happily take getting a few players out in the JTW. We need safety first but I hope behind the scenes NC and the board are starting to plan for the summer recruitment.
We've rushed and panicked in the past and it's got us nowhere, us fans need to be patient and give NC & the board time on this and then let's see what the outcome is next season.

Happy new year fellow blades.
