Quite possibly, but if he's motivated purely by money, he probably isnt right for us.
Our stock is very high just now, and we are hopefully seen as an attractive place to be, so fingers crossed.

A really good solid reliable player, but not one I could see ousting Fleck or Norwood in our current system. He’d be excellent mind alongside both of them in a 3 like at Brentford, but the likelihood is that this is an occasional system we’ll be using rather than our go-to (in which Duffy’s role continues) – King’s next move will surely be to a team where he is more likely to start.

Central midfield is our strongest area, so I’d rather we spent resources elsewhere like on a forward or a backup for Duffy.

Plus, remember the last 30+ year old midfielder with a solid reputation we signed from Leicester?

The only player I can think of who could successfully replace Duffy, like for like, is Jota, and he would cost more than Andy King probably.

I’m under the impression he was lined up last January and was willing to come. We spent the wages on James Wilson instead. A Duffy back up/ improvement and striker surely remain top of our shopping list unless King plays the no 10 role?

Why do we need another midfielder and why would he get a shirt when Coutts can't? If we have money to spen one area we don't need to spend it on is midfield.

I have a nagging doubt about our midfield Bruce. As pretty to watch as it can be, I just don't think it has the nous to deliver the killer ball at times. If we are serious about promotion we need a better wing back, midfielder, and striker, to make a difference. This won't be a popular opinion but Fleck, Duffy, and Norwood shouldn't be considered as certain starters indefinitely.

At the age of 30, you're entitled to try and get as much money as you can IMO unless you've been on mega-bucks, which King hasn't. Doesn't make a player a dick or one we wouldn't want in our team.

It's a fair point, but try telling Chris and the board that . CW is a firm believer that a player wants to come here for 'the right reasons ' and that usually means for less money than he could have got elsewhere.
