Nobody's mentioned it in this thread (though I'm 99% sure we covered it last time his name came up in Rumour Mill)... he played brilliantly with Brewster at Swansea.

He's also a top pro and better than people seem to think. 33 doesn't mean he's past it.

Not having played at top level much would be biggest concern, but class is generally permanent.

Supposedly he was on 100k at Swansea and they couldn't find a buyer when they got relegated so he stayed. Which might explain why he ended up in an Oil state afterwards as well. Then to FFP haters Forest.

Anyway, as a freebie to be backup to McBurnie and McAtee, if he's able to prove fitness (trial please) it could actually be an excellent signing for this season.

Moussa Marega would have been the guy to sign I think but he has opted to stay in Saudi Arabia. Stevan Jovetic is another but collects an injury every other game and has signed for Olympiacos now.

I think all things considered Ayew who seemed to do OK at Forest could do OK for us. He is left footed and can play about 3 different positions up front.

Goal number 9.........that blacklad that plays for Arsenal and England would have been proud of that.

I decided to look for the previous discussion on Ayew. Turns out I suggested him in the dark December of 2020.

Do you think you might do better on Twitter? Leave the grown ups to it?
Ah right you’re one of them. If I don’t agree with your opinion then I must be wrong. Next you’ll be calling me a pig. Let’s see how many goals Traore scores this season then and we can pick this conversation back up in May.

“He’s fucking shite” makes you sound fucking shite. That’s basically it.

As per the Davies signing, it's an awful lot to ask for big impact from players who've just not played much in recent times.

Don't disagree, but it's also a big ask of Osula & Traore given their level of experience.
It's probably worth a look (trial).
Fair. I think it's (similar to Davies again) odd that he wasn't brought in earlier if the club thought he was a viable option. Unless it's been a shock just how bad Osula has been and this is just a punt

He'd be next man up when McBurnie gets injured, likely to play some part in every game.

I'm all for experience but there has to be a real attacking threat attached to it.

He’d only be next up after McBurnie if he’s the best option at the time and if he’s the best option in comparison with our other strikers then surely he’s worth signing?

If he's the best free agent and can offer more than Osula then yeah, hard to argue I suppose

Hope he’s not keeping him company in our treatment room

Well said. What are we going to do when Mcburnie gets injured again? We have no one who can lead the line. Archer isn’t that type of striker

Think hit nail on head here. Oli Mac hasn't gone a season without a lengthy injury.

We don't have anyone in his mould to replace him if gets injured.

Not really about the goals if we bring in Ayew but more to use his strength and hold onto the ball as a backup to Mcburnie.

He’s fucking shite
I’m not sure how you can call someone at that age fucking shite when he’s got all the years infront of him, then proceed to clamour for someone that’s done fuckall for years whose towards the back end of his career, that’s a strange argument to be had with folk.

I’m not for one second saying we shouldn’t sign Ayew by the way because he could prove a useful addition but if anyone else signed him in the league I’d ask why? The point I’m also making is it’s where we’re at, Ayew is a viable acquisition due to the position we now find ourselves in from a lack of activity earlier in the window, I know money dictates this but our negotiations seem to go on longer than a meatloaf and Abba medley.

Very uninspiring but we need someone through the door.

Bit late for a trial, squad needs submitting by Wednesday. Worth a punt for me, on a short term deal till January with option for us to extend at that point.

Might get better offers elsewhere. Think players of his ilk can make some demands of clubs like us, Luton and EFL clubs if not Saudis

He wasn't really bought for this season though was he, he like Slimane have been brought in to develop

Not happening according to Hal, so it looks like we can stand down on this one.

I would have liked him to come in personally.

Is this a signing because we don’t expect to see Jebbo or Brewster til late February. If they was close to being back would he be being looked at?
