They wouldn't touch SUFC with a barge pole.........

How many times you heard in the past when the transfers window shuts ?:

'we tried for a few but for one reason or another we just missed out'

I know BB same old Tired Excuses Coming from SUFC Especially that we tried Excuse:mad:

Most of my ambitions in life have never been linked to cash.

I'm so glad and happy about that.

:)

mmmmmmmmmm............ everybody has different AMBITIONS and entitled to them.....

only thing money does is give yer more choices............very handy to have.

Simple question.

When SUFC manage to get hold of a QUALITY player why can't the Blades keep hold of em ?

Is it just me or does anyone else think that this thread is just going round in circles?

Just like the Blades.......................

oh wait a minute the Blades are goin backwards just now.

Why wouldn't they come ?

They may have different priorities for their family.

May not want to disrupt their childrens education for example?

Or do you think money would make them do that?

I would not have done that to my kids.

Different ambitions eh?

Why ignore the reasons why they may not come?

Are you a double act??

:)

Unless they were a Fan of the team they played for Like Billy Sharp which non of them are then there should be No reason why they would not wan't to come to the Biggest Team Currently in the championship.

Money Talks every Football Fan knows that.

You should know that we'll soon be back on the up then (just might take a little longer than originally expected!)

No need to disrupt childrens education, as i said before money gives you more choices, only got a fiver yer on the bus, plenty of dosh its the limo, helicopter, jet or whatever

over the years............ Mick Jones.... TC.... Deano....... Jags....

Mick Jones & Tony Currie?! You can hardly compare them to Deano & Jags when it comes to transfers - football was a very different game back then.

Jagielka wanted a change, he wanted to stay in the Premiership and he was offered more money.

I started my job in 2003 and have recently been looking for another role, still working in the same industry but I want a new challenge and some more money. No matter what my current employers offer me in my current role, I want a change for myself. How does that differ from Jagielka wanting a change? Sometimes no matter what you offer someone they don't want to stay, they want to go for themselves.

If a player wants to leave you can't stand in their way.

So you want United players jetting in and in limos?

Man of the people!

:D:D:D

mmmmmmmmm one more goal...............with some sensible transfer dealing SUFC would have got it maintained Premiership status and grabbed some of the lucrative TV money, with no other team in the Premiership East if the Pennines from Boro in the North to Villa in the South what a great catchment area for SUFC to attracted new Blades from.......... another opportunity missed.

Now answer this one... with stakes so high why did SUFC not invest in some QUALITY players ? Lack of AMBITION perhaps ?

Don't talk daft. With a ball being six inches to the right of where it went against Wigan and it would have happened.

Speculating on what might have been is a pointless exercise, but to directly answer your question takes a few moments.

Firstly, there's every chance that the budgets were stretched. This is why I'm so pissed off with the short sighted people who see "McCabe is worth £60m.", and then think he can just amble down to the local NatWest and withdraw it to add to the Club's funds. It's all tied up in investments, etc.

Given that within the last ten years, we nearly dropped to the third tier of English football, being watched by crowds of less than 10,000, and a very uninterested board, I actually think we're doing ok. Just not on the field.

Secondly, as far as attracting players is concerned, we were a very small fish in a bloody big pond. Oddly enough, I doubt that Ronaldo would have thought, "Ooh, I'll go to Bramall Lane.".

Thirdly, what precisely do you expect King Kev I to do? He's not going to gamble all of the family silver to keep the dream alive, is he? Would you? If you've only got £100 to last a week, are you going to put the lot on the first favourite at Cheltenham? Of course not.

Fourthly, the clause in Jagielka's contract, while cruel to us, was probably there for some time beforehand, and put there by his agent. Now while I'm sure we all agree that agents are lower than a snake's cock, you can't blame the lad for safeguarding his interests.

Fifthly, the club is growing, albeit slowly, but it did take years to get back to the top flight after the last disaster. The days of having a rich benefactor (unless you're an oligarch) are long, long gone. Money, (which still seems to be the same as ambition to you) doesn't last forever at this level, and needs to be earned. That's why the club is growing, and starting to make an operational profit after donkey's years of debt.

This season has been a disaster, but it's not the first and won't be the last.

Think you're talking rubbish to be honest and just after an argument for sake of arguing

no i don't want people like cashley at the club just players of his quality would be nice.;)

Yes of course it would be nice.

Now how would McCabe do that then?

Unless he sells all his assets it will never happen.

:)

If wobble gob ran his property companies as well as SUFC he'd be bankrupt.

And you're worth £60m are you? I've seen nothing but improvement off the field at Bramall Lane since he was in charge, and that's what was seriously, seriously lacking through my life as a youngster following United.

Would you be talking all this bollocks had we stayed up by a goal?

Didn't think so.
