There is also an assumption within the media and with some of the Sunderland fans that they will be promoted straight away, so Wilder wouldnt be in L1 for long. As we have proved, it does not always work out like that. With whatever money the new Sunderland manager does get, given the location etc they will be paying over the odds for players. L1 teams will see it as a big day out and have a right go.

Not easy.

I think if Wilder went there it would be a bizarre decision given he has just proved himself in the Championship.

The old mistake of thinking a quick return is the order of the day for any ambitious club is a foolhardy gamble and Sunderland are no different or anything special. If Chris Wilder's old mate is about to take over the club then it's pretty obvious the new guy is going to want someone he knows from way back when. However, this could be seen as a cover for the new owner if things don't pan out and a first season return doesn't materialise. Sunderland could end up like Coventry or Portsmouth and that's something Chris Wilder wouldn't want now or ever.

The grass isn't always greener so to speak and better the devil you know.

Yes, and in my reply to her response to my post I regret not having asked her for any useful hints and tips she may be able to pass on in order to help me attain her level of True Bladeyness.

It was also remiss of me not to inform her, as a new member, that there are are many others on here who would welcome such advice - the likes of Bashar al Asaba, Snooty and Pinchy immediately spring to mind and I really should have asked her to reference them personally with her words of wisdom on the subject.

Still, at least she appears to have fucked off, so it's not all bad news.
