How did that happen? What's the excuse?

Thought the same thing Ricky. Likewise in the Pukka Pie corner.
Been working on my 2 step sons (now in their 20s) for years and they've finally come round to wanting to go and see the Blades.
I tried to get 2 tickets for them but no chance without loyalty points.
I can't for the life of me think why they didn't go on general sale? :(

Nope, the smell from below was so pungent, especially from the fat idiot trying to make sure the cameras saw him, that it was felt best to keep those seats free.
That fucking idiot is the last thing any camera operator with any sense will show..

The lump probably looks in the mirror and sees a World Cup beauty staring back at him

Many of the seats up there directly behind the goal, arguably the best seats in the house, were empty. Then there were plenty empty towards John Street.

This is in addition to the bottom few rows being cordoned off by the safety freaks.

What a fuck up. We should be maximising our home support in that game more than any other, not wasting it.

General sale was never going to be an option.

Get your lads a membership each for xmas and then get them to go to enough games to get 500 loyalty points that they will need for big games in the future

Yep, done that Swiss.
It just seemed an ideal baptism for them for the atmosphere and a trouncing of our free-falling neighbours.....on second thoughts...... ;)

Nah, they need to build up to the derby. Many waited for years for it to come around. It’s not a right, it has to be earned

How does that fat get manage to get a front row seat for every game?

The concentrated area of empty seats directly behind the goal might suggest they were free ticket giveaways that weren't taken up.

Whatever, they have a lot to answer for. It's not good enough.

We like to force our own fans to sit behind poles and on some occasions entire brick walls before we’ll sell any seats in the front SIX rows of that stand.

It started about 10 years ago with 1 row empty and it’s been creeping up to the point where we’re now literally at 6. What’s the fucking point in having the upper tier?

It's a monumental waste.

Prime seats wasted in a Sheffield derby - avoidably. Pathetic.

The worst bit is that we don't even use the seats that aren't taken away by SYP.

Having no vocal support up there is one thing. But you should at least have the fucking seats filled in a big game. We can't even manage that.

Officially around 2,500 empty seats due to segregation, restricted view, unsold etc.

Unless the South Stand where I am had plenty of gaps, i was struggling to see that many.

I bought a seat in the BLUT in the first half hour they were on sale, the closest row on sale was row G meaning the 6 rows closer to the pitch were never on sale. Ridiculous.

If you go down to the front of BLUT you can't see those below and there is a big net so nobody could throw anything at them even if they tried, stewards were confiscating any smuggled in bottles and cans.

Presumably its SYP's instruction but is nuts compared to say the other big city derbys like in Manchester. Even if there is a problem the club should sell these seats to OAPs or juniors less likely to cause a problem. :)

Better to fill it than have seats empty but the club just doesn't get this with its £33 tickets, even for restricted view.

Dont make assumptions about us OAPs not being able to aim a jet of the greeny/yellow stuff at the unwashed grunting below. That’s ageist

From my seat in the SS, the front six rows of the BLUT were 'cordoned off' as was an entire block at the John Street end of the BLUT. Nowt to do with United 'not maximising our home support...', as ever it was SAG and SYPD taking the soft option. If I was K.Mac I'd be fucking furious.

Little known fact: The front 10 rows of H Block are reserved for academy players and family, i.e. people highly unlikely to cause any trouble. The late tickets that went on sale were the ones they didn't take up. Why the club couldn't have adopted the same strategy with the BLUT front rows, i.e. old fogeys, families or whatever, displays a distinct lack of marketing nous. SYP wouldn't have objected to this. Would they?

Enough seats available still at the top of the Bramall Lane upper and in the corner stand. There were seats there were not even cornered off empty up on BL upper.

Also some people must have fucked off on holiday in the south stand as there was half a row or two of emtpy seats near me.

Not sure what the solution is as attendances are down on last season despite everything.
