Went to Northampton last week and loved every second. Today though was the best atmosphere I've ever experienced as a blade (started mid 90's). Absolute pandemonium pre match and at half time. We're already up, no nervousness from the players or the fans, just a complete party. These are the sort of days that just make every bit of heartache completely worth it. Just priceless, and long may it continue.

Still genius in my book

Football songs are like the folk tradition, in the best possible sense--of and from "the people". American examples may not be the best in this case, but Woody Guthrie, Dylan, Pete Seeger, the whole damn lot of them, made names for themselves recycling traditional melodies and words. (And don't get me started on rock bands like, eg, Led Zeppelin. Page & Plant get genius gongs from me, but without Willie Dixon they'd never have recorded a note).
