He's peaked quite late in his career, he wouldn't have played so many games in the Championship recently if he wasn't a good target man. So I'm sure he could be useful in L1. But I wouldn't want him to be starting every game, and it depends on wages. But we do need a target man.

I'm with you that Revell would be better than Hanson. Its just a shame that Revell is 32 now. He is the right that of player though that we need as a big lad up front.

I think its commonly accepted that we need a physical striker, not necessarily for the first 11 - but as an option on the bench or for certain games maybe.

The thing with these types of players is that there aren't many with the physical attributes, nous, and skill in the 'young' bracket.

I’d prefer a big forward with other attributes like pace (in the Akinde mould) but if we are determined to go down the traditional “I’m a target man and nothing else” route, I don’t think there’s a lot between Revell and Hanson and both could do a job. Revell’s a hard worker and could do a Cresswellesque role but Sharp’s not quick meaning we’d lack pace up front with 2 ageing strikers.
