"Well, he wants to be United Together with us to the end of the season, there is a real spirit about this lad, and I want to thank the British Telecom engineer for finally repairing the fax machine", said Mr. Adkins......
;)

He's a very experienced player who we were interested in when he was at Mansfield.
I see we've got the expected reaction from the no all who have wrote him off before he's kicked a ball.
It's obviouse Adkins is having trouble getting young hungry plays in ( they are his top target ) surely better to bring someone in
who won't be phased by booing and negativity of a proportion of our fans.
Why not keep your vitriol to yourself and get behind him and the team,he was a very quick good defender let's see if he has retained that
after coming back from a broken leg.

It's another 30+ championship player probably on a decent wedge, and contradicts what type of player he has stated he is targeting, how many 30+ players do we need to cope with all this fans vitriol.

Have you been taking Barney pills? You've given your view four times on this thread.

It's OK Smirth, the gaffer's here, have the rest of the day off :)

In response to other posters. You've seen fit to post twice to whinge about the contributions of other posters, rather than offer anything on the subject :)

Ageing? Check
On his way back down the leagues? Check
Had a recent serious injury? Check
A centre half under 6 foot? Check.

What could possibly go wrong?

Seriously though. I don't know how to feel about this one. If he signs, I'll judge him when I see him. He was part of that Blackpool PL team that overachieved.

I'll judge him when I see him"

Not a mantra for some on here.

Karanka obviously didn't think so, and he seems to be doing a decent job up there, so I reckon I'll go with his judgment on this.

Here's hoping.

Our record of signing such players is awful so I find it struggle to be optimistic. Still, he'll have my full support and if he keeps Neill Collins out the side it can only be a good thing.

If he's fit enough to complete 90 mins then fair enough. I guess if / when Boro go up, they will probably have other players / targets so he would be a great signing for next season if retaining his ability.

Can't really see any negatives in signing him, it's a only a 93 day loan so no real financial risk. I really find it hard to believe that Boro would have signed a player at the start of this season who is no better that Collins, McEveley, Edgar and Basham.

I remember Warnock enquiring about him, but we thought Mansfield wanted too much.

He'll do for me although i dont know much about him other than he played for a blackpool side that leaked goals like a sieve
But from.memory he was quite handy going forward

Its about time a signing came off for us

Does he want to play for Sheffield United, I mean does he really have the desire and commitment because if he does he will do for me and some of it might just rub off on some of the others who seam to show less desire.

Apparantly so SK10.

Alex (might have) said: "Sheffield is a Premier league club with fantastic facilities and great fans. I am looking forward to helping the gaffer and the team be successful in the coming weeks
"When they told me Sheffield were interested, I knew straight away that it was the best move for me"
"I just want to get started and help the lads get back to where they, er sorry, we belong"

Young and hungry players, he said.

Players who can play full seasons, he said.

Signed a slow 30 year old whose just suffered a broken leg, he did.
Have you ever raced him over 30 yards ,injured pre season not
just ,and I'm sure given his previous record can play the rest of the season. Idiot

Before we say that he might be "a great" permanent signing, let's see how he equips himself during this loan deal.
