Erm a 19 year old can be classed as ageing, none of us are getting younger!
True, but you know what I mean.

He fits the profile of players we have signed all to regularly that have gone on to be failures.

I hope he does well but I'm not at all hopeful.

Has the feel of short term fix rather than long term planning which has been an issue for us for a long time.

However, he has been captain and from what I've seen seems a brave, aggressive player which is something we are short on. Bolton fans say he's quick too although his age and the broken leg might have seen to that.

"This signing will be a big boost for the South Yorkshire outfit,"

Yep, I'm pretty sure the players will be ecstatic with the signing of a player that hasn't kicked a ball competitively for nearly a year

We need some quality to come in and hit the ground running. This is a critical period for us and we don't have the luxury of giving players a number of games to get match fit

Good luck lad, you'll need it

As DerryBlade wrote on BM:

"Nigel Adkins said after our JTW failure

“We identified young, hungry and ambitious players"
Please explain what has changed?"
In the emergency window the young, hungry and ambitious players that they were attempting to sign from lower league teams in January aren't going to be allowed out on loan.

What? We've signed him twice! Typical Blades!

And by the way this is not a rumour, I have defnickly read it on the internet!

Alright I give in, I should have looked there first........

Foxy can you please fine me 50 likes for posting in the wrong place.......

Rather a loss of 50 likes than having Miss Whiplash issue punishment ... unless you like that sort of thing of course ;)

More slow and old championship players on their way down please. We haven't got enough.

Baptiste at RB with Brayford at RM wouldn't be a bad idea, it's fair to say the defensive side of Brayford's game hasn't been stellar lately but he is an attacking threat.

He could be as wank as the local butcher at playing football, I'm just relieved that we actually know how to sign somebody.

I understand the pessimism on here about everything United right now....but I don't see this as a negative. Yes he's had a bad injury, he has proved his fitness by completing 2 under 21 matches, sounds like he could be a class act for us....at last. He's certainly not on his way down the leagues! We won't be signing him permanently...Boro will want him back without question.

Yes it may well be too little too late but let's be positive and hope that he gives us a boost for the rest of the season and we manage to scrape into the play offs!

Confused Nigel how does that fit

“We identified young, hungry and ambitious players"

Comments after JTW what's changed Nigel?
He's a very experienced player who we were interested in when he was at Mansfield.
I see we've got the expected reaction from the no all who have wrote him off before he's kicked a ball.
It's obviouse Adkins is having trouble getting young hungry plays in ( they are his top target ) surely better to bring someone in
who won't be phased by booing and negativity of a proportion of our fans.
Why not keep your vitriol to yourself and get behind him and the team,he was a very quick good defender let's see if he has retained that
after coming back from a broken leg.

Thread police arrest this man, he talks in maths ;)

When was 30 considered "ageing"? Jesus christ

Boro paid money for this guy in the summer.. This is Middlesbrough... Favourites for the title in the league above.

Long injury lay off which could go either way, but better than what we have considerably.

Have you been taking Barney pills? You've given your view four times on this thread.

It's OK Smirth, the gaffer's here, have the rest of the day off :-)

Injury prone, wrong side of 30, big wages, 'versatile'.

Can't wait until we announce his permanent signing.

Bit strange. Hope it doesn't mean an end of the 3-5-2 experiment.

But best of luck to him.
