Watched the 3-3 draw on our way to Al Ain for the ‘Al Classico’ - Al Ain v Al Wahda.
Great game and atmosphere. Wahda (our team won 3-2). The boys all had blades tops on and we received a few ‘up the blades’ shouts.
This is a grudge match because of lots of trouble last season. But the WBC ( Wadha Business Crew) were in fine voice and were heavily marshaled by the mounted Police.
The standard of football was much better than I thought. Quite a few Brazilians and Europeans. Wahda big names are Adrien Silva, a midfielder who played for Portugal and Alan, a Brazilian who was at Everton last year.
Al Ain’s star was Andriy Yarmolenko who was at West Ham.
Will report on the future adventures of Wahda Blades
