.....no not Bachman Turner Overdrive. Blackwell saying we are only functioning at 75% at moment.
Also caught a gimpse of the infamous Geoff Sheard at Newcastle. Is he something to do with the takeover up there !...Oh dear.

To be fair we have new players in the team and it takes time for players to get used to each other and those that have'nt played first team football to get match fit i.e. Treacy and Evans.

The question to ask is why the team is only functioning at 75% and what does it take to get the team functioning at 100%. (I'll settle for that)

But the real point is that KB believes in a style of football that went out with the ark.

It's not about what kind of football is 'in', it's about what works.
We finished 3rd last year and have made an unbeaten start (not including Port Vale) to the season.
It may not be pretty at time, it may be very frustrating at time, but there is no denying it is doing the job when it comes to results.

If we hadn't took so long sorting our transfers in then we might have been more cohesive together.

We didn't have much choice on the Evans one. Man City had more pressing matters to attend to, like attempting to spend as much money as possible :)

Problem is, if we are wanting premiership squad players, the staggered start to the season means we have to wait longer until the Premier sides have assessed their squads and made their signings.

I wish you wouldn't respond to me Foxy, you know we will end up all day just talking crap :) and I ghave work to do lol.

I think the Evans deal depended on the Kyle deals going through.

I accept that to a point.... but I don't feel premierhsip off-casts are always the way forward. We need to show our flex to the rest of the league by hitting another club in our league and taking their best player. I don't know.... maybe Earnshaw from Forest ;) (and yes I still think we should have signed him previously)

We declared our interest in Evans before any deal for the Kyles was on the table :). Perhaps we would have still needed to raise the cash for it to go through, but we'd definately approached long before, possibly loan with a view to perminant (this close season, like has happened :))

We definately need to cast the net wider if the talent is there, but of our signings this pre-season, which you mention should have been earlier, only Taylor and Bromby (who was already with us) came from teams outside the Premiership :)

Chuff me! Whisper that one! I know Forest fans that will kidnap Earnshaw from the training ground, lock him in the boot and then deliver him hog-tied to the car park at BDTBL!

Oh I know we declared our interest - and it is a very good signing for me. But it just seemed we needed the money to sign him from the Kyle deals.

What about Williamson? ;)

The players we have brought in have little or no PL experience (Glen Little apart). I am not saying this is a bad thing - just we shouldn't make out they are PL players ;)

Earnshaw has the talent.... just because he is not producing for Forest doesn't mean he won't do it elsewhere.

He's not done too shabbily at forest, but it is certainly one of his bleaker points of his career.

He was in a bit earlier :D

Stictly speaking, they were Premier League players as they are from Premier League teams :)

I'm not saying they are good enough for the Premier or experienced Premier players... Merely that they come from Premier League clubs, so the staggered start issues are there.

To be fair, Earnshaw has been bleak since he left Cardiff! Some players can only do it in one place!

Morton, WBA and Norwich he has done very well at.
Forest has done ok.

Derby.... well I think that was his biggest regret ever joining them.

As was Bromby but you still mentioned him ;)

I think it's all very well trying to get some good young prospects from the PL - but we should be looking at players who we know can do a good job at this level. (Williamson is a good example even if I don't think we should have signed him)
