AI DATA

Jamestown Analytics started in 2017, way before Ai was an apple in the eye of, er, Apple.

It is about clever and careful use of data, often data that isn't considered useful elsewhere. They may well be using AI now, but that isn't how they started, nor a fundamental part of what they are.

I have no idea, whether sSwansea are 'lucky;, first out of the traps, or won a competitive bidding process, but JA have always been VERY clear that only one club in any division, could use their data.

Hearts used them as well. We gambled at the poker table.

Tony Bloom (Brighton and Jamestown Analytics) and Mathew Benham (Brentford). are gambling professionals, who used to work together.

I'd suggest that James Bord was queueing for the queue, to queue, to get somewhere near to watching their table.

Every single club in the championship will be using some form of data now and for the past 10+ years too. Obviously some models have proven success. We went for some bloke who was hardly pulling trees up at Dunfermline and gave him control, sacked a manager who didn't agree with that after a pretty remarkable season after a terrible one the year before and are now paying the price for that monumental error and will for quite some time.

I think we're far enough into the Jamestown project to say categorically that they aren't lucky. Previously used at Ipswich, also used at Hearts, Como, Swansea, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise (won their first league in 100 years), Grimsby & Shelbourne (who have broken in to Europe).

I can understand how someone with no experience in british football and a group of investors, who have pumped a lot of money into AI start ups, would be taken in by another AI start up offering the same service but as a discount.
