Or the players and didn't acknowledge Billy when he was subbed.
Complete and utter lack of class.
He's the opposition manager, he shouldn't be shaking the hands of our players when they come off or when we've tanked them 4-1. We'd be furious if it was our new manager doing that

I was thankful for the good times he gave us but I wasn't singing his name tonight. He's moved on and hopefully the last of our fans can now.

Boro bottled it like their manager did here last season.

Shot straight down the tunnel at the final whistle. Hope he had the good grace to wait outside the dressing room and shake our players' hands.

Below the belt his comment yesterday about Hecky being part of the decision making process to bring him to the club 'when he was out of work'

What was the comment he made about Hecky?

Why would he?

It would (rightly) be seen as a lack of respect to his current players and fans.

Imagine our manager doing anything of the sort with an ex team of his who we are losing heavily to. Imagine the carnage on this forum if that happened. People would be pulling their hair out.

What a great night.
Pleased the vast majority of Blades fans gave Wilder a great ovation, and even more pleased with a great result and performance from the Blades.
Confirms what I always suspected, the Wilder haters on here, are a bitter classless minority, and most Blades fans, who go to the games, really are a class act.
Stay classy Bladesmen.

To be fair Steve Bruce shook Billy's hand when he was subbed.

what do you expect, he is the opposition manager im sure he will have acknowledged him pre or post match

Exactly! If Hecky’s shaking the hands of every Barnsley player and clapping the Dingles fans during the next home game while they’re turning us over, there’ll be some upset fans on here.

Cheers Chrisseh, turning us around so we could score 2 in front of the kop first half worked a treat 😂

As did asking all your shithouse diving players to shithouse and dive all game 😂

Agreed. The reference to Hecky being out of work at the time was completely unnecessary and lacking in class.

Could this be their Villa moment like we had in our promotion run?

Wilder calls them out in the press, pins a few things to the dressing room and then they turn it around?

As brilliant as we were last night and as ordinary as we made them, if we met in the play offs I don't think there'd be a repeat performance.

I listened to two separate pre match pressers and in both he felt it necessary to state that he brought PH to the club rather than just praising him for how well he’s done. It was as though he wanted a portion of the credit. He genuinely think the world revolves around him.

And PH has done exceptionally well for not only restoring a little bit of pride once Wilder fucked everything up, but also converting a bunch of players, who had been coached a completely different way for months and were very low on confidence in to genuine promotion contenders. And again restoring pride and the player-supporter connection.

Completely different situation, Hecky left Barnsley years ago and probably doesn't know any of the current players.
However Wilder obviously knows most of our players very well.
Apparently CWAK waited for the players in the tunnel and congratulated them, so fair play to them both.

He did bring him in and he recommended him as caretaker last season

Can you blame him for going straight down the tunnel? When it's his first return to his last club, his boyhood club and his every move could be scrutinised on camera?

His side have just been drubbed, he'll be pissed off. He'll want to give them a bollocking. He'll want to do that behind closed doors.

He'll also want to catch up with old faces, but he'll also want to do that behind closed doors...

...imagine if you're a Boro fan and your side have just got mullered, by a promotion rival, in the promotion run-in and you see Wilder go off hugging his old players and waving to the opposition fans. Not going to go down well, is it?

It's clear that Wilder still has a lot of affection for the Blades, there's no doubting that.

Our last line up before Wilder took over 0-2 v Scunthorpe at the Lane ,and still some slag him off.
