Hi everyone

Thought I would register and post on here to get some banter/chit chat ahead of our big game on Saturday.

Are you confident that the Blades will be successful or have reservations? The general mood on our board is one of let's enjoy the day out, make plenty of noise and back the team to the hilt but as we've been hit & miss all season the expectation is low.

We've sold over 21,000 tickets so far up to this morning and guess you are around the 25k mark?

Massively excited about Saturday and think it's very close to call and guess it's down to who gets the little breaks will triumph.

It's been discussed on our board DATM http://downatthemac.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general who little banter there has been from Blades supporters so come on over and chew the fat.

I think you've pretty much refelected the feelings on here too. There have been too many devastating POF defeats to even think about, but they've all been in the "£50m/£60m/£90m insert any number you like here" Championship one.

If we win, I'm guessing we won't know what to do, but we'll have a season of struggle next year and if we lose, we DO know what to do, and we've all enjoyed League 1 anyway.

I suspect the pressure is a little more on Town, because defeat would probably see the break-up of your team?

Hi Panny and welcome,

Know a few Hudds fans living here as I do in crappy ol' Bradford.

But you're attitude is akin to me own mate! Now we've lost our strike-force it's gonna be down to those little breaks I reckon too. All in all, I'm just going down there to see my team at the 'new' Wembley and have a good weekend no matter what the result. I'm just pleased that at least one Yorkshire club will win it, but of course, I don't really want that team to be you ;)

Hi buddy,

And on the back of that devastation last Sat that'd be two real unhappy weekends for you I guess? Come on Blades, give us sommat to cheer about o_O

But sure, it's odd this final, neither teams fans seems particularly 'confident' as opposed to the normal 'arrogance' we're used to seeing. Actually quite nice for a change...

Having experienced the play-off defeat last season I know to some degree what your lads and lasses have felt on your 4?? previous attempts.

I hope to god I do not experience the same OT feeling on Saturday as felt sh*t for weeks afterwards. It's a pity it's Sheff U we are playing as I have plenty of Blade supporting friends heading to Wembley.

If it was not us playing you, I would be cheering you on to play-off success. Difficult to say about a break up of the team to be honest. We have 10 or so out of contract I would gladly drive to another club but expect JR to move onwards and upwards.

All the focus will be on our goal machine but have a feeling one of Ward, Novak or Higginbotham will be the difference if we win.

We may as well not turn up .............................. AGAIN !

Well i'm not turning up can't be arsed !

If a miricle happens you will get beet ! Bad luck an cheerio from BB n' our gert.

This made me laugh, I can just imagine 30,000+ Unitedites stood looking at each other wondering what to do in such an alien situation!

iv already arranged that. iv organised a big screen link to the 3 fans who led the celebration when Monty scored goal of the season, as no one else in the ground knew what to do, including the ref who at first waved play on.

Don't agree with this mate.

Our team will be ripped apart too. Also, the pressure is on us really bad. Highest wage bill in the league, finished above Huddersfield, never won a Play Off Final and to top it all off Wednesday got promoted. Can you imagine our summer if (and next season) if Wednesday are in a league above us!!

It would sum up the massive waste of time and money over the last 5 years since being relegated from the PL.

A general mismanagement of a decent amount of money. McCabe wanted the best for United and has wanted out for a while now. It shows because as soon as the owner becomes less interested it then begins to rub off on everyone below. (as much as people would like to think otherwise)

Maybe Saturday will set the record straight and show we are a club still wanting to go onward and upwards.

I can see what you mean and can't argue with that, but even if we go up we know we still need to offload the still too-high earners. According to Swiss Ramble's recent article on the Dirties, we paid 110% of turnover in wages last season, so to me dismantlage will occur irrespective of league.

Where I think it differs for them is that although their Chairman seems happy enough to pay what he needs to, their better players will probably want to move on if they miss out for the second year in succession. They'll see players like ALF and Billy in the Prem next season when players like Rhodes and maybe Novak will feel they're just as good.

I love reading your posts so passionate, so inspiring ,so motivational they are like the war cry of the cow on its way to the abattoir

Well, I'm confident.

The Blades Are Going UP!!!!!!!!!

Walking in a Wilson Wembleyland.

Could've sworn that you told us that Wendy would lose a game before the end of the season.
Admire your gusto Pinchers but it's going to be a tough, tough game.
Pleased with the way the lads and Danny approached the semis but this is an entirely different kettle of fish.

If we had Evans I'd say it was 55:45 in our favour. But we haven't so we are fxxxxd! But I'll be there on Saturday just in case I'm wrong.

In short, no one's confident.

Could be a case of 50k+ Yorkshiremen of the Apocalypse on Saturday.

I'm just trying to provide an antidote to the doom and gloom. If we, the fans, go to Wembley defeated before we start, that will be reflected in our (non) support. I prefer to be upbeat. A pessimistic soul doesn't shout and sing! How are we to enthuse our team if we can't rouse ourselves?

Huddersfield are nothing special. They were left trailing in the run-in because they were not good enough. They go to Wembley on the back of a home defeat, comprehensively outplayed.

Is there a scenario possible where we would both lose?
Seems only proper for proper yorkshire folk that no one wins and everyone can go home grumbling abart summat.
Change is not good ah tell thee!

Good for you Pinchers :D #UTB

(making a shit load of noise never stopped the team fecking up on the last 5 or 6 big game occasions before, mind)

Well my friend, as you can see this forum is full of pessimism. I for one believe that Blades are the favourites, and will win it. Maybe it's because I'm young and the disillusionment hasn't kicked in yet but yanno. Feels weird to be in the minority here when I say I think they'll win.

I'm old and well and truly disillusioned but this is a bright new team guided by a shrewd new manager. I've drawn a line under Blackwell. At least Danny will send out a team to win the game!

You're right Damski. There is a great deal of pessimism amongst a large amount of Blades. Maybe after years of disappointment for a lot of people it's easier to be negative when you're expecting the fall.
I, like yourself truly believe we'll win. It'll be a tough game no doubt, but, i believe we will come out on top.

Tell you what don't fucking read them then...

I'm old and disillusioned but this time I think we will do it. I just wish both teams could go up rather than those arrogant bags of shite from S6. At least the fans from W yorks can hold a conversation and not use the word MASSIVE in every sentence, that is unless they are L**ds scum.

if we had Evans we'd batter them. without him, we'll still win. Danny will figure out how to do it and the players will do it. just u watch!

as for the Hudds banter, cant wait to wind u lot up and have a great day in the sunshine! hope its a good game and we win by the odd goal in 9!

It's too close to call in my view, I believe it will be a tough game for both teams. Hoping for the best preparing for the worst.

The general pessimism is purely based on previous defeats and the usual defence mechanism in case we lose. The reality is that it's a different team under a different manager and past history shouldn't have an effect whatsoever, other than the reaction of the fans should we concede 1st.

We were the better team over the season but that counts for nothing now, particularly considering events in Rhyl. It really is a toss of the coin as far as I'm concerned, whoever goes for it on the day and has that bit of luck. Sounds obvious but the 1st goal is crucial to us, we don't want an atmosphere like 2009 after Burnley scored.
