So IF we do reach the promised land do you think we'll be buying Carter-Vickers and Blackman?

Julian Draxler's probably looking for a way out of PSG.....

Real Madrid are ready to sell Bale.....

If we go up I think we should and will primarily target players from outside the PL who'd be smart investments, like Ryan Woods and John Swift. Then I'd expect to see us bring in a couple of top quality loans.

agree totally with those two. Biggest problem I think would be finding a 15 goal a season striker at reasonable money. CW is a miracle worker but even he might struggle with that one.

I personally think that in January we should look to sign a striker (s) who will fire us to one of the automatic promotion spots.

I'm sure the Walker/Maguire money is being held over for that reason. I take on board that the incredible team spirit that currently exists shouldn't be upset but I have full confidence in Wilder to 'suss' out a player's character and he would fit in with the rest of the group and buy into the work ethic.

Having said that Wilder and Knill continually think outside the box (I'd love to have the opportunity of listening to them talk football, so many radical ideas such as overlapping centre backs!) and they may demand that the current players, not just our forwards weigh in with more goals.

Didn't HRH mention something about the Walker/Maguire money coming in has meant that we are currently at break even or words to that effect?

After years of expecting the worst it's fucking great to go into games knowing that at the very least I'm getting my money's worth. I'm not sure how this season will go but I wouldn't care less if PL top teams fucked off to a super league. It's impossible to compete with them long term so my plan is to just enjoy winning and pissing off teams who think they are bigger than us because we were really shit for a while. PL is full of teams who are bigger :)

I want to keep winning and I want to stay top.
But I really don't want to becoming a PL whipping boy and watch us get stuffed by the likes of Citeh week in, week out.

Can we win promotion, but politely decline it?
we won't get stuffed..it's the commercialism and the diving and the gamesmanship that i can't stand. plus having to pay French league division 2 journeymen huge wages for being no better than their English counterparts.. that really does my head in.. so i'm not reight bothered about the Prem. and as such wouldn't give a monkeys if we came straight back down again. it's not the be all and end all as much as the BBC and Sky try and hype it.. the Championship is far more evenly matched and as a result .. interesting.. the premiership is 5 teams sponsored by nation states and cannon fodder for the tv

Far too early to think like that.

But my thoughts on CCV are that he is better than he gets credit for. He’s not huge in height, but he bullies forwards...at 19, and wins more headers than most.
And this is a lad still learning the game and playing regular football for the first time.

We have the second best defensive record too, and he’s played half of those games.

So on the basis he’s going to just get better and better, IF we are in a position to acquire the boy for next season it’s a no brainier.

As for Blackman....see above.

I cannot see those lads wanting to leave. They are becoming a huge part of the club.

Should also be looking at who makes way......
Hanson
Lavery
Reed
????????

There’s no limit to the potential of this club. We’re a big club in a big city, not a small Lancashire or South Wales town. We needn’t be whipping boys with a bit of luck

Said on another thread. Should we go up both are for sale and I would expect CW will break the transfer record for both of them. All ifs and maybes though

More chance of Blackman, seeing as Levy would be the negotiator for Spurs, and we`re not money wasters like those in S6.

Not if we have any ambition. You lot that don’t want the Premier League can opt out. Please, though, don’t purport to speak for those of us who, whilst acknowledging the many evils of the Premier League, want to see Sheffield United at the highest possible level.

There are many smaller clubs than us who survive quite comfortably in the Premier League without being anyone’s whipping boys. Maybe it helps not to suffer from Bladey Inferiority Complex?

Absolutely right. Too many Blades love to cower in the corner, wallowing in inferiority with caps ready to doff in any and all directions.

We have as much potential as any club in the Championship and half the Premier League. We could be massively huge.

He's only 19, but has the physique and maturity well beyond his years. He’s going to be quite a player.
Yes you forget he's only 19 , he's is playing beyond his years , I think he is doing an outstanding job , one thing about him , he is a hard man / young man , and who ever he has come up against soon gets to know this , I have not seen anyone boss him around yet !
