If there weren't any young players available why even bother to get someone else at all. Why pay the money for Bent when every sign suggests he's done as a player? But we'll only be paying wages to these players, we can't afford to sign players from the lower leagues as they will attract a fee which we can't afford. I don't think Mattock is too bad and Riise is useful ( if we actually played him ).

It'll be very interesting to see how we respond to tonight. We're looking much better at home recently, and Saturday against Boro is an excellent chance. Cardiff are as jittery as Leeds and Forest at the moment, so there is no reason based on recent form why we can't win those. Palace's next two are away at Ipswich and Leicester and it is quite likely they will pick up nothing from both. We could be a win away from climbing out of the drop zone next Wednesday. We both have similarly tough run-ins - let's not all go crazy off the back of a loss away at the team that's been a quality above the rest of the league, and not when things could be very different 10 days from now.

I thought we tried hard tonight, we were just let down by the poor quality of some of our players. Collins, Doyle and Bent all looked woeful, and Nosworth did what he always does. Thank goodness we can at least get rid of 2 of them at the end of the season - shame we are stuck with the other two. Henderson looked off the pace and players who sometimes turn it on (Ched, Yeates) didn't do much.
But we are not down just yet, if we can just grind out a couple of 1-0 wins or even a win and a draw in the next 2 home games then things could look rather different - Palace 'should' lose both their next two. Not that I'm getting my hopes up too much - we are almost certainly going down - but we were never likely to get much out of QPR away anyhow so not much has changed really.

We now have two choices, get in a manager that will do the job in League One or stick with Adams knowing that he will do a job in League Two the season after next! Bring back Blackwell all is forgiven!

Not sure there's much point in sacking Adams now.
Someone's going to have to manage the impending summer firesale and manage to put another half-arsed 11 complete with the usual complement of loanings together for another miserable season.
Adams might want to walk facing that but some mug's got to do it.
Generally, it's hard not to fear for the future of our club. Crowds are about to plummet and they're going to be mighty hard to get back.
It's going to be S6's future now.

Adams was doomed when he took over. The situation led to certain signings such as Doyle who he's had as commander-in-chief in the past and injuries, form and most importantly lack of cash have taken care of the rest. Sure Adams would have been expected to have had a greater effect than he did and I'm sure there could have been different players brought in but there aren't many managers who could have turned us around this season after Speed left.

As plenty of people have been saying, the problems with the club in general run too deep at the moment and the management just hoped somoene could turn it round, this masterplan for the future, to me, will only start to take shape once all the big earners have gone and we're actually spending relative to the position we're in, which, unfortunately, looks like being Division 3.

As I said a few months ago, going down, whilst having a shattering effect on finances etc, may be the only way the club can get a grip on where we are and actually put this plan of building a team around young, local, decent and hungry players into operation.
