it looked like somebody had been knocked over on Charlotte Road straight after the match.

Big crowd in the middle of the road and an ambulance trying to get through.

Hope it wasn't too serious. Anybody see anything?

He was laid on his side and wasn't moving but he was talking easily enough.

I wondered why the traffic around the ground was gridlocked.

I hope the person is OK.

A man ended up with a broken foot after a collision with a car following a Sheffield United game. The pedestrian was hit by a black Peugeot 307 at the junction of Charlotte Road and Edmund Road, near to the Bramall Lane ground, at around 9.50pm on Tuesday, March 28.

Police officers investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision have only released details of the incident this morning. PC Jake Broughton, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “The collision happened after a football match had finished and there were lots of people walking near to the ground and where the incident happened. “I’d like to ask anyone who saw what happened, or who saw the pedestrian or the car prior to the collision to please contact us."

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.

I'm not suggesting for a moment that this man was to blame but what is with football fans that when they leave a stadium they think it's perfectly fine to step out in front of a moving car? It happens at every ground with all fans, even a few streets away from the stadium. I once saw a home fan at Burnley a few years ago running down a path before the game then swerve across the road without looking before being caught by a car doing 10-15mph. He promptly got up and gave the poor driver a right gobful before running off.
Hope the fella in question has/is making a good recovery
