I certainly wouldn’t put myself in the ‘bedwetting after two games’ bracket, but this more than anything else does worry me.

I can deal with late recruitment, change of manager, style of play, and being patient with all of that, but our academy setup is the best thing we have at the club in my opinion. It does seem strange that so many are jumping ship all at once, at this stage of the season.

My mate knows Rob rayner he’s 100% left for Brentford, Their head coach took all their staff when he went to spurs, so Brentford came In for Rayner and a few of other lads, they’ve made rayner the top coach or senior top coach, I asked if this had owt to do with the academy coaches leaving and it hasn’t

What ever anyone says, and despite the statements on socials, it’s still odd that 6 academy staff leave to take positions elsewhere.
There has to be a pivotal moment, a trigger, a catalyst for that to happen. That scale doesn’t happen by coincidence.
They must have spoken to each other and decided there was no future for them at the Blades academy. Regardless of poached by Brentford or assistant at Morecombe. It all seems odd that they have left en masse.

Am I correct in thinking that last year we signed a 16 year old keeper from the States for £500k? If so any idea what happened to him?

To say he is only 16 he is a decent height and build (I think Wilder is about 5'10/11) fingers crossed we actually get another regular keeper into the 1st team. He might be "coming of age" at the right time. Although there will be competition, good luck!

Just from looking about the website and not sure if I have missed anyone but we have Andrews, Betts, Grainger, Venners, Hall, Hewitson, Faxon and Gold to cover U18s and U21s

Very much doubt we paid any fee for him tbh but if we did it would have been nominal.

He’s been training at Newport County this season. Don’t know the reason behind this, can’t see it being work permit related as he has a Romanian passport. But his step dad is the manager so maybe some sort of youth loan and training with the first team for experience.

He’s been at Newport County this season so that will be the reason for that. Don’t even know if he’s still with us tbh, I know he was named as one of the new signings with the other youngsters earlier in the year but it’s strange he has never featured for any academy side. Maybe it fell through and he didn’t sign in the end or maybe he went straight over to Newport and his step Dad on a youth loan but I’m sure there would have been a press release for that so God knows what’s going on with him.
