Not sure this has been Posted anywhere else so sorry if it has. But I have to give credit to sheffield united and everyone involved with our academy.
The future looks very bright some real talent is emerging. The like of peck, seriki, Marsh boyes ect all look to be capable of having a really good career. That said if these become a 1st team player it's unreal no out lay of fees for the player which obviously helps us with not loads to outlay in first place.(Just hope contract done run down) or if they do want to leave should get a decent fee for these lads. Again credit to everyone involved with academy it's great to see and keep up the good work.

Some haven’t made the step up to men’s football for a variety of reasons and we’ve lost others the bigger fish but we’ve done a fantastic job of bringing this crop through and translating that into contributions for the first team.
You’ll never get all the players through but we’ve given the right grounding to bring players through, or in Oné’s case scouted and recruited him to finish him off here in the Blades way. The same way we did with Osula.

Last night we had 7 players in the matchday squad from the academy (including Oné).

Of course, as I mentioned on another thread earlier this week that’s not just because they’re better than anyone we can recruit, it’s also a result of having to save money as well, but we sit 2nd currently so something is also working

Blades academy players still playing in the top 2 divisions:

Ramsdale
Long
RND
Seriki
D Brooks
A Brooks
Naughton
McFadzean
Slater
Marsh
Buyabu
Maguire
Walker
Ndiaye
Arblaster
Peck
Seriki
Osula
Jebbison
Whiteman

For comparison, here are a few select clubs total number of academy graduates for players with league appearances that still have a club: Wednesday have 4 if you count Vardy. Burnley have 5, Sunderland have 14, Forest have 8, Leicester have 9, Spurs have 8.

Our academy has exceptional output.

Need to add Ben Whiteman to that list too.

Exactly it’s a testament not only to our long term youth development of players that are long term boyhood blades but also our academy recruitment and to be honest any player who is capable of contributing in a positive capacity to a good Championship side in their late teens early 20’s is likely to have a respectable career in the game as a minimum if they avoid serious injury or off field issues.

Whilst we might’ve had better individuals come through previously I’d say we’ve not had a collective group come through like this in the modern era with hopefully a few more still to come from the current 21’s.

What about the guy we sold to Spurs?

2 Serikis?

How petty are Birmingham? To edit our kit for this post.

I think the academy has played a HUGE part in this season.

All the way back to the summer transfer window when Osula got sold to Newcastle meaning we wouldn't have to sell any high profile players (according to some sources) to fund the likes of Cooper and the loans and into this season, where Arblaster (until now) Peck, Brooks, Seriki and even One playing a part.

Just imagine then what the club could achieve when the new training ground is up and running .
Can see it now -
"Your heading for fame when you come to the lane"-

" be the best at your trade by becoming a Blade"-

"forget the rest
be a Blade,
be the best.

Man with the right funding the possibilities could be mind blowing

Lukas Schmitz the Bauer Leverkusen scout was there today watching all the young players so he said, according to X.

Peck, One, Seriki, and possibly a wasted journey for Brooks. Could be one’s he was looking at, but which one in particular? I’d imagine it was for a certain player but just said ‘all the young ones’ so he didn’t have to say the player in question.

"PGA Blades get England call

The progress of United's Professional Game Academy has been emphasised by four players being called up for an England Under 16s camp taking place this weekend at St. George's Park.

Erin, Alex, Lottie and Mollie, from United's PGA Under 16s side, will join up with the young Lionesses for two games against Denmark at the end of the week.

It continues the success of the Professional Game Academy in just its second year, following on from the Under 21s winning the inaugural PGA Cup last season under Ash Thompson, as well as almost a dozen players making first team debuts across the last 18 months."

“United have snapped up another promising young defender to the club's academy, with full-back Lennon Patterson signing after eight years at Wolves.

The 17-year-old was highly sought after but the Blades have won the race for the attacking left-back's signature, with Patterson now joining up with United ahead of the remainder of the Professional Development League season.

Patterson becomes the third player to join the academy setup since the start of the season, following Alfie Atherton's arrival from Oldham Athletic and Jamal Baptiste from Manchester City.”

We seem to be a very appealing proposition for a lot of these young players. Long may it continue.
