CONFIRMED Aaron Ramsdale sold to Arsenal

A good sale, if the money is sensibly reinvested. I like Ramsdale a lot as a character and he has shown that he has plenty of mettle & resilience this last season.

Certainly goes with a lot of well wishes and I hope he progresses as far as his potential allows him in his career. I worry about him in terms of the club he's joining, the exposure to their harsh fan base and the expectation that will follow the price tag (£24-30m isn't cheap for a keeper), but ultimately it's a move he couldn't turn down. I don't think he's ready to be their Number 1 yet, but hopefully he gets to that point eventually and wins their fans over.

Until any keeper we want to buy to replace him suddenly costs twice as much. I keep hearing about these good Championship keepers we can get for a snip but I’m still not convinced.

We might end up better in the outfield but we’re going to be worse in the goalmouth.

But I didn't rate ramsdale as high as some... I always said he'd come good, but Dean Henderson ( who would cost more as you say) he ain't.

Name me a keeper who’s available, as good as or better than Ramsdale, and who won’t take up most of the fee we’ve got for him. And who can slot straight into the team. And who fancies coming to us.

I think you're overrating Ramsdale there to some degree but to suggest a championship club can sell a player for up to 30 million and replace with "as good as or better" is delusional and to think we need a player who is worth up to 30 million in the champ, is also delusional. Get Olsen on loan and I'm not sure we will notice the change too much tbf.

That’s a massive ‘if’. Why would Olsen want to come from Roma to us?

Would Rammers have conceded three goals (so far!) tonight? I don’t think he would.

Shame really. I was really happy we got a young keeper in with the intention of him being there for years.

Seems like a lovely lad. He has the potential to be a future England keeper.

Wish him well and hopefully he'll supplant Leno sooner rather than later.
 
Asked if he can spend ramsdale money "I cannot answer that but we definitely need to use this money"
 
Tell you what ramsdale should thank his lucky stars that he wasn’t playing tonight , he would have been battered and arsenal would have gone elsewhere

Verrips was poor but there aren’t many goalkeepers who will be able to deal with that bombardment this season

Like Stoke on steroids with a plan that team we got the wrong manager 😀

Verrips is a fine keeper and if he's good enough for the Eredivise, he's definitely good enough for the second tier of English football.

I definitely 100% agree with you about JoC, I think we probably would have got about £40-50m for him if he'd stayed fit and had another proven season in the top flight.

As for Rammers...he's actually 23 and he's only had two POTY awards. Good research 👏🏻

On that topic...those two POTY awards came whilst playing in poor, eventually relegated teams. Effectively like being given the award for Tallest Dwarf.

It's not all disagreement though, at least we can both agree I shouldn't be on the board!

Not seen it mentioned but reading this morning how Ramsdale disabled the ability to comment on his social media posts due to abuse from Arsenal fans.

recall him mentioning last season about blades fans affecting him on social media, he’s in for a nasty surprise moving forward I think

Saw some on 1 of there twitter ac it was horrible hope he has a strong back bone he's going to need it
 
Hurry up and pay Arsenal. So we can crack on and sign some players.
