Agreed, valuation was apparenty met,Wasn’t signed though. Personal terms was the reason. Didnt wanna be 2nd choice. A classic case of agreed but not signed. Meaning Arsenal,Blades or Ramsdale can pull out. Nobody wanted him to leave, he didn’t wanna go. Case closed on that one then.
Cheers for the updates. I just can’t believe it’s took up until this point that Ramsdale has only just realised he was going to be second choice? All this could’ve been sorted ages ago knowing full well he was always going to be second choice.

I said weeks ago Rammers did not want to leave and that he wouldn’t. He’s a good lad and true to his word.

I remember you saying it, thing is, there's fan optimism and actually knowing it. Doesn't translate well on a forum, but you stuck to your guns.

Arsenal can’t officially talk to the player until the clubs agree a fee so it’s only at that point he’ll have seen the brass tacks of what was on offer. Before that he’ll only have been vaguely aware of the sweet nothings arsenal were whispering into his agents ear.

To be fair to SSN, they said at 7.00pm transfer show that he’s in talks but fee not agreed as yet, so perhaps it’s close but no cigar as yet
True mate, as Gidds intoned last night perhaps Utd are going to hold out till end of month to get a better offer

He’ll have been well aware ages ago, no two ways about it, he could’ve quashed everything by saying I’m not playing second fiddle, everything would’ve been 4 weeks further on.

Like many others I've given Rammers plenty of stick, but if the Arsenal move does fall through then hopefully he can flourish in the Championship with a fresh face at centre-back helping Egan marshall things as well.

Maybe but there’s differing degrees of being second fiddle and what their vision for him was going forward.

I fully understand every club has delusional supporters, but Arsenal truly have them in abundance don't they? I knew that, but this situation has confirmed it. The amount of them slating us on twitter for not accepting a good bid.

Why would you sell something (that you just bought so therefore wanted) just because someone offered 'market value'? You'd only sell for a hugely inflated price because you don't want to sell it. Same applies for literally any product, house, car etc

Probably just kids in Asia with iPhones but I've finally bitten.

Could be. I didn’t think a fee had been agreed though yet so how has he come to that conclusion or spoke to them if a fee hasn’t been agreed?

Massively conflicting reports on that all over the place some saying we’d agreed it and a deal was imminent and others saying we were miles apart in valuation. Like all things the truth is probably somewhere in the middle I guess pick a source you trust a go with that version because now the deal is off arsenal will be doing some serious work to save face in the press and muddying the waters that’s for sure.

Wait I don't get it, are we moaning that we're not selling players because we 'supposedly' need to to fund loans? Or are we moaning that we're actually holding out for decent fees for the first time ever and not pulling our pants down and bending over as soon as a buying club mentions the word 'million' I want to know where to direct my annoyance 😂

Most Arsenal fans ive seen on Twitter aren't moaning but celebrating we didn't agree to sell

I don’t believe that the player didn’t want to go. He would have gone 100% had a bid been accepted. I can see the pull of a pay rise, London life and competing for a team with a great history. But they’re a million miles away from every being that team again and there’s a huge divide between fans & club.

Gooners reacting to the news like they've won the Champions League on Twitter. Is Rammers' rep that bad? He'd be on a hiding to nothing there.

100% a scare tactic from the club. It makes Ramsdale force the move and twist our hand to accept lower.

If we are holding out for £30m plus I don’t blame them for not agreeing to it, they’re signing a keeper to compete with Leno. He’s not even automatically going to be first choice, that’s a huge amount to spend on someone who’s going to be in and out of the team.

The saving face has already begun Yogi lol
Like clockwork init I expect to see a lot more of it for a least a few weeks. Arsenal don’t move like a big club in the market and so shit like this is out out to cover up for it and smooth some egos. Big clubs come in and pay the money to get the player they want end of they don’t piss about at it.

Sounds like the boy is very happy at the Lane, they say personal terms was agreed but not the fee , that can’t be right not allowed to talk terms till sale agreed.

I know why you're saying this, and so this isn't meant to be a dig at you, but I honestly couldn't give less of a flying f*ck what Arsenal fans on Twitter think. Supporters of the big teams on Twitter are among the most ignorant group of people I've ever encountered online, and I spend a lot of time pratting about on the internet. What they think means literally nothing. They are clueless.

Whilst true in theory it's a bit naive to think it doesn't get sorted between agents and intermediaries prior to a bid being accepted.

Rammers apparently gutted?

Taken from that article is the quote beneath:

"Not long after, however, the whole thing reportedly collapsed with Sheffield United’s demands rising to £35m for a keeper who is actually only valued at £10.8m. They paid £18.45m for Ramsdale last summer and Arsenal were prepared to pay between £17m and £20m for him."

Who's valuing Ramsdale at £10.8m!? That stupid transfer market site? As if we should sell Rammers for that or for any bid under £20mas also reported by article and others. We only bought him last summer and he was our player of the season and in the England squad. He may not have played but there's no way an England international at 23 is worth less than £20m. I'd say he's worth minimum £28m - a ten million profit on the original deal.

What's really annoying is that Arsenal knew our position and fee required, all they've done by this is unsettle a previously happy player who is now going to be disappointed because of a move fallen through which seems was never going to happen unless they bid higher and seems they were never wanting to do that;, presumably they hoped that the player would put in a transfer request (as was rumoured) and then we'd be under more pressure to sell.
