Say Goodbye, the game is over,
As we sing, our wednesday song
How it breaks my heart at four two
Now the derby day is done
High above, the Blades are flying
And my team are falling down
For the Carvahal it's over
We may never win again
Like a drum, my heart was beating
But Flecks kick, was sweet as wine
Then Blades joy at Leon beating
Alex Lees and Van Aken
Now the Hillsborough crowd is moaning
This will be our last goodbye
Though for Carvahal it's over, Blades will love you 'til they die
Like a drum, our crowd was bouncing
And our team was thick as swine
But the joy of Joao was fleeting
For we froze, and Duffy scored
Now the Hillsborough crowd is leaving
This will be our last goodbye
Though for Carvahal it's over, Blades will love you 'til they die
Though for Carvahal it's over, Blades will love you 'til they die

Sadly, I clearly remember the original, The Seekers with their antipodean songbird Judith Durham.

Skilfully put together Bayingblade , I particularly liked the way you managed to rhyme wine with Van Aken :-)
