Shoreham Street - Til Death Us Do Part
As the title says tomorrows game against Port Vale should be considered a very tough test all things considered in current circumstances. I know it isn't what we want to hear and in all fairness Port Vale would usually for us be a piss team who we wouldn't expect anything less than 3 points against.
First things first we have tricky Micky Adams. Lifelong Blades fan, ex Blades Apprentice who was recently given his dream job in charge of his childhood club to only last about 3 months or 24 games. Lifelong Blade or not he's coming to the lane with a point to prove not only to the board and to us the fans but also to himself. Alongside him of course we have Rob Page, long term defender for us but as with Adams i'm sure there will be no love lost when he's in the away dug out tomorrow.
Then most important you look at the form of Vale who in all fairness are a team holding their own and doing much better than us so far this season. In recent weeks they have licked Coventry 3-2 who we obviously lost against last week with the same scoreline, they have also taken the leagues top two very close losing by only a goal in both games (orient 3-2 vale & vale 0 - 1 Peterboro) so all in all they have shown that they are value for their money in big games despite only being a mid table team.
So yeah to sum up, in usual circumstance we would think different and it's upsetting to have to think otherwise at the minute, the thought of a tough game at home against Port Vale in recent years isn't anything we have been or should be thinking about.
That said after the second half against Coventry I think should we play like that again then we will knick it. I'm going for a big scoring game as well 3-2 to the blades (Baxter, King, Collins) and i'm going to have a look at backing that one as well will let you know what odds I get!.
