A team of free transfers

I did some perusal of the players listed as out of contract on the PFA site. So decided to come up with a match day squad of realistic targets for United during the transfer window. I came up with the following:

GK: Joe Lewis - Peterborough
DR: Paul Quinn - Cardiff
DC: Alex Bruce - Leeds
DC: Aleksander Tunchev - Palace
DL: Gary Borrowdale - QPR
MR: Lloyd Sam - Leeds
MC: Tom Soares - Stoke
MC: Sam Togwell - Scunthorpe
ML: Chris Taylor - Oldham
SC: Roman Bednar - Blackpool
SC: Danny Webber - Pompey

I'm not saying that all these would play at this level, but I think they should be realistic targets before the end of August.

Certainly interested in Taylor as he can play both flanks. I think Webber would be worth a trial to see what he has left

Yep, helped get Lowton sent off. Certainly plays with a ginger hobnob on his shoulder. Would be a good replacement for your ginger friend

Joe Lewis has already signed for Cardiff and I'm pretty sure Chris Taylor has signed for Millwall.

I would definitely have Paul Quinn and Lloyd Sam, and I would also love to see us sign Tom Taiwo from Carlisle. He wanted to move back home to Yorkshire, which is why he left Carlisle, and he's a really good midfielder. Should definitely be on our shortlist at 22/23 years old.

I think they have almost counted the washers as DW seems to have the first draft of his budget to work with.
Depends on what KMac, Willo and Porter decide as to how many more washers he has to play with.
Be good if they can find a stash of wing nuts to go with it.
