A strange game

I feel we were poor and too many players played poorly today. But what a comeback and what a fighting spirit we have. UTB!
Agreed but the games are coming pretty thick and fast. You can’t be at it 100% every time. I’ve seen someone in a different thread saying they’re worried because of the performance. For me, the most important thing is getting the win. Doing that on a night when you’re not quite at it, and a number of your best players didn’t start, will breed confidence.

It was very slow paced for a lot of the game, neither side taking a big risk to get into the box with any quality. Second half we seemed to get worse until they scored.

But what a comeback as you say.

Don't tell the truth, all sorts of accusations wll be made...

I think we were very lucky, and reliant on a piece of individual brilliance..

But then again I'm no fun at parties and a boring twat so dont listen..

Didn't realise you couldn't say what you thought..we were very lucky tonight, my opinion..

All I ask for is a bit of fighting spirit. I don't expect us to win every match, I accept some days it won't come off and we'll not get things right but all I ask is that in those days we actually scrap for the points.

We were awful for 80 mins then remembered we were allowed to play front foot football and we looked a different side. Don’t sit back and defend not only is it boring it hardly ever works.

Great moments at the end shouldn’t be necessary though

Feels like tonight is the night where we’ve clawed those 2 points back, might not have deserved it but it’s nights like this that make the difference at the end of the season.
Reminds me.of the Swansea away match in our last promotion campaign, a late winner after a poor performance.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say we were poor, it was a solid performance but lacking in the final third.

If we could create more chances and score more goals there would be no stopping us this season.

It's when the stopping us by the end of the season and then going to the Premier league where it all ends 😢 😭

Strange performance. We lacked some CMF impetus, lack of players in the middle of the park showing for the ball and making things happen. Few stray passes and being dispossessed too. Overall abit of a sloppy performance and we looked a little tired.

But, as soon as we need to turn it on, we did and we snatched it. Delighted with that.

It was alot like the other games we have played one up top. Looked much better in the last two with Moore and Campbell. I really hope we go back to that against the pigs.

Not sure you're far off but where we're the crosses onto the box that were so deadly last Saturday?

One's goal a set piece, the burrows goal was down to one good ball and burrows having a peach of a left foot, and the bollocks to stay on his feet..

Where were the crosses that destroyed Stoke tonight?

Play tight Sunday we play into thier hands, I bet that's what Norwhich did tonight at the sty..

The Nigel Clough tactic of start with a point is something Wilder needs to forget about.

Bit flat with the changes and then Moore getting injured but never too worried until the pen. Once we scored I was sure would win even without that red. We have that bit about us that all successful sides need.

There's obvious room for improvement but 6 points from two sides unbeaten at home isn't to be sniffed at

The best crosses from the right came when Seriki came on and just put a few simple balls across the box, Brooks and JRS didn't really run at anyone today

I don't think we were that poor, our defence looked very solid (as usual), our passing was good at times, it was just the final ball that was almost always poor. It's our final ball and overpassing that's been our downfall most of the season.

Not sure if it was because it was a midweek fixture but it was played at a slower tempo and Bristol City were cagey.
So it was like 2 boxers sparring just feeling each other out, refusing to take risks, most of the time it looked like it would end 0-0

and both sets of players seems to have this attitude of not wanting to lose instead of wanting to win.
It was only when we went 1-0 down, that we broke out of our slumber, upped the tempo and went for it more.
Altho Bristol City helped us by deciding to sit back, defending their lead.

Agree, both Brooks and JRS had surprisingly poor games.

You’re perfectly entitled to call it lucky but they handed possession and territory to us, a top side, by dropping deep and trying to defend at 1-0. Lucky? No, for me we executed well when the game shifted shape. Tufty has to be congratulated for the subs and the players for doing what quality players are capable of. We ran them ragged in the last 15 minutes

I thought Peck had a shocker, gave up possession too many times. Blaster made a huge difference to taking control of midfield

Tbh I'm probably nervous about Sunday, some won't admit that but I will, the starting 11 didn't win that game, that was clear to see. I know we've got a plan but then who knows, play like that first 70 mins and I just think we hand the initiative to the opposition..

Once we went after then with purpose they shit it..Hamer has had his head turned by Leeds...again controvertial comment to some, but what I think...

Best form off defence is attack "etc" least I'm honest with what I think..

Yeah, he played similarly when he started against Middlesbrough too.

Bristol City like teams going at them though. Which was likely a consideration, though I don't think we were anti attack necessarily, just really, really slow.

Hamer had a shocker by his standards, too many flicks to no one, over or under hit passed. Hope he has it out of his system for Sunday, as we need everyone one song to but them to the sword.

Burrows, what a player, quality all match.

Hey, I’m with you on the idea of Sundays game. I’d love to think we’ll start with the finishing XI from tonight and really try and kill the game off by half time but fear that they’ll park the bus, we’ll get flustered and the crowd will get mardy.
I’ll be glad when its over - whatever the result, and we can get on with the rest of the season. 🫣

Only just remembered, that it wasn't that long ago that Bristol City got a draw with Leeds at home.

A difficult away trip for most teams 🤔
