Our last Saturday home game at 3pm was against Hull City on 4th November. If the Villa game is called off due to the 4th Round of the FA Cup, our next Saturday 3pm home game is against Burton Albion on 3rd March. I intend to enjoy a rare home match played at the traditional time.

Like the good old days under Weir/Clough/Adkins.

Good morning walk with the dogs, early bar, great chat with the lads and leave the Cremorne at 2.50 and still make kick off.

By 3.05 it's all gone tits up.

Those were the days.....

I re-read that to the tune of Mary Hopkins 'Those Were The Days My Friend' :)

Could be wrong but I seem to remember Man U went a whole season without a 3pm Saturday kick-off a few years ago.

PL now have 8 different kick off times over a weekend.

Friday 7:45
Saturday 12:30, 3, 5:30, 7:45
Sunday 1, 4.
Monday 8

There’s 10 fixtures over a weekend. 7 of which are on this times. Saturday 3pm can have as few as just 3 fixtures!!

Still, modern football eh?

There's often 3 live games on a Sunday and also non-televised 3pms so you're looking at potentially 10 different kick-off times.

Great for the armchair fan, crap for travelling punters.

Although I do quite like the Saturday 5:30 kick off. At Villa last week following the other scores before kick off.

A repeat of that Hull game would go down a treat! :)

Football for me has always been about 3pm on a Saturday ever since I was knee high to a grasshopper... dad would give me a bit of pocket money to nip down the newsagents in the morning to pick up the weekly Roy of the Rovers, run back home to read it over dinner which was usually steak and kidney (not the punched variety! ) pie, chips and beans and then off down to the footy!

Wish it was still like that.

You're younger than me, Roy Of The Rovers was well past its sell by date! Match Weekly and Shoot were the magazines to get! :)

Nooooo...Roy of the Rovers was still great when I was getting it (the comic that is!)...

Around 1987 till it did go downhill circa 1992/93 when the artwork went completely shite and then nobody bought it so the publication folded...I kept every copy as well.

Loved Billys Boots, Hot Shot Hamish, Mighty Mouse and Goalkeeper

1992 the year football was destroyed by the Premier League and new artwork in Roy Of The Rovers!

I'm more concerned with the squad rotation issues with Sunday Premier League games followed by Champions League on a Tuesday
Lundstram for the Premier League, Coutts for the Champions League, Simples!

I don't like Saturday 3pm matches anymore :(
