Yes you must have been at a different game to me as well fella, as i was shitting it every time he got the ball. He was their only threat but a bloody big one and i was chuffed to bits when he went off...and at the time it was only 1 - 1. Perhaps when he went off the defence who had been given a bit of a runaround probably pushed up and the goals then came.

Your entitled to your view but i cant agree that he wasnt a serious pain in the arse football wise on the day. He looked a very good div 1 player to me that day.

He did but "ran the show" is patently wrong. Nobody in a Chez shirt ran the show. They got a pasting.

I'd sign him purely on the basis that it would cause a shitstorm

Fuck other clubs
Fuck the media
Fuck the fans of other clubs
Fuck the FA
Fuck Jean
Fuck the women's groups

And fuck everyone else

I thought Ched played well against us. I heard Jonny Leeds on RS say he was ok in the first 10 minutes in that game but did nothing after that. But I think Jonny must have caught his todger in his zip during a half time piss and not rejoined the game until after Ched went off because I saw him run us ragged down the right and cut inside and hit a shot which Moore just manage to palm away at full stretch. Then I saw him head one at the goal which Jake Wright just managed to head over the bar.

Jonny says we don't need him. So that for me is proof that we do. Anything Jonny says is the opposite of what is right.

There aren't many ex Prem, ex European Cup, ex International., ex Championship, strikers of his age playing in League 1, earning a pittance at a club that's going nowhere.

What not to like?

Agree he was a handful in the game and came really close to scoring, he is strong, as is Billy, at physically holding off oher players, he has some pace ad a good shot.

At the end of the day, Chris WIlder will make the call, no matter what we say on here.

CW doesn't want him . Ched doesn't want to come .

Move on .

Ok Ched
Let's triple your money and you can try and pick up your career from where it got interrupted

Of course he'd want to come

Gerrim signed.

We want to go up and he betters our existing striking options. Simple as.

No I don't have mates that have done the same. There is also a big difference between cheating on your girlfriend and having a threesome with a mate after he calls you up saying he has a bird back in his hotel room, then sneaking out the fire exit! I just think the guy is a scumbag for it, like I would any man that thought that behaviour was acceptable. He may be innocent of a crime but still clearly not a nice bloke that would do such a thing.

I believe he is entitled to a career ofcourse, just don't like the guy for what he did. I won't be kicking up a fuss if we signed him, I'd just prefer not to have a guy like that playing for Blades. I also would prefer we didn't have the likes of: Joey Barton, Gary Madine or Peter Odemwingie. Not on football reasons, I just don't like them so would prefer they didn't play for us! You may not dislike Evans for what he did, which is why you want him to play for us. Absolutely fair enough. It's just too much for me to think of him in any other way than a bit of a scumbag really.

The thing is lots of players have done stupid things when they were younger such as Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand, Kieron Dyer, Liam Lawrence, Chris Brown, Ben Alnwick and the 3 Leicester players. That is 9 players off the top of my head!

Those are the ones daft enough to record it, how many others do stupid things that doesn't become public?

It's obviously poor behaviour, there is no denying that, but that's what happens when you give lads in their 20s shit loads of cash! There are very few of us who wouldn't have acted like a massive knobhead also if put in the same position.

So personally I don't care what they get up to as long as it's legal and isn't hurting anybody. I want United to sign the best players possible to win matches, if these players are playing well they can do what they like off the pitch.

Not when he's firmly of the opinion that we broke an agreement with him .

He's going elsewhere

Yes, I will if you, in turn, improve your literary skills, Dom.
I will endeavour to improve my literary skills for you Pinchy. In return, could you please try to stop being such a dick. Thanks in advance.

Wayne Rooney? Great player but it's a no for me coz he cheated on fucking Coleen

He's an innocent man. Should be allowed to continue his career as a footballer. And I said the same prior to the retrial.

But, I don't want him at the Lane. Aside from him lacking the sharpness he had when he was last here, he was dogshit in the league above and if we go up, I see no reason why a lesser Ched will be better the last time we had him up there.

And, from a purely personal perspective, I cannot forgive him for a complete and utter lack of professionalism in his first stint at the club which cost us £3million and what should have been a straightforward promotion over our arch-rivals.

We talk about never going back to previous successes, we sure as shit shouldn't go back to previous mistakes.

Let him forge a career in the lower leagues. He's more than welcome to it.

This a million times over. It's not that he is a sleazebag, innocent or anything else. Some of our supporters have the imagination and creative thinking of newts when it comes to players. I'm not of the Pinchy school of bladeybladeness but there are better options.

However, if our manager deems him the man then I will welcome him like I would any other. He pulls on the shirt and improves us then great. I just don't see him being all that to be honest. Rather take the bloke from Scunthorpe, or someone who has a proven track record of being fit and scoring a lot of goals. Ched did it for one season but let's remember how bobbins he was before.

As for someone saying he ran the show?!?! Really?!? This must be akin to the time Scunthorpe humped us 4-0 at home and we hit the post 18 times.

FFS,they are footballers, nothing else. Anyone who thinks they must be role models is an idiot. Most of them are pretty thick, earn obscene amounts of dosh, have a circle of clinker mates sponging off them and shag anything that moves. On the latter bit they are pretty much like most young lads.
Some people really need to get over themselves with the moralising shit.

Who'd have thought writing ran the show would be so controversial,
Ched was a constant threat whilst he was ON the pitch, imo everything chezzy had came through him.
Chill out ffs.

I think your viewpoint is a completely fair and legitimate stance. However, it is not one I share.

On a separate point, you say as long as it 'isn't hurting anybody'. I'm not sure I would agree his actions fit that criteria, in my opinion.

CHL
Unless you know something about him moving to a Championship club, stop it

If we want him, we have only got to make an offer and we will get him

If CW wanted to sign Ched - virtually every Blades fan would accept the decision.

For the ones that did not go to the Chezzer game v United - virtually every Blade clapped him off when he was substituted.

As for running the show - perhaps not quite but what I did see was Ched pulling our defence all over the place - quite often he would make runs, want the ball and the Chezzer midfield were way behind where/when he wanted it. Thought his movement (on that day) was excellent. The excellent save from Moore at 1 nil to them was crucial - but he took EEL to the cleaners with his movement.

Isn't the main issue whether he would come back to US? No one knows the answer - or do they?

Straight swap for Mcjumper - what's not to like ? ;)

I love posts like this. Now, tell us what the source of your information is coolhandluke? Where have you heard that Wilder doesn't want him and Ched doesn't want to come?

I believe both to be wrong. But I'm prepared to believe that Wilder won't be allowed to sign him.

I know it's football, and the supporters religion that shall never be questioned etc, etc, but this blind loyalty to a player who, through vast amounts of money thrown at his legal case, managed to find a way of using someone's past to undermine their worth as a human being. Evans was (may still be?) a predatory, self-serving narcissist who managed to weasel his way to the point where he could overwhelm his way to some type of legal victory. I know it goes against the grain to say as much, but the way some on here (and football supporters in general no doubt) seem to have no clue about the difference between a legal victory and a moral defeat is astounding. I guess club before commonsense is taken as read in most circumstances.

I don't care about him or the path his life takes him. If he should return to United I'll still support the Blades, after a couple of years he'll be gone and this will have been the peak of anything that could be regarded as a football career. No doubt those with massive mouths will reply in the way they no best, but if there's a lack of civility the 'ignore' button will be pushed with gleeful abandon, that's a promise UTB

I saw from a poster above the following quote - "If these players are playing well they can do what they like off the pitch" - a perfect summary of what I wrote above.

But I'm prepared to believe that Wilder won't be allowed to sign him.
Not be allowed by who ? And why ? Is this belief based on anything ?

For the record I am not sure a forward is a priority. Cover at right wing back, a centre half if eel leaves, and a winger to replace Chapman are more important in my opinion

Well...I don't think you have to be a genius to know the answer to that do you? He's on £2k a week at a club that is going nowhere, except to League 2 quite possibly. He had loads of supportive messages from Blades fans all the time he was in jail and he's acknowledged his gratitude to our fans for their undying support. (He made a special statement about that when he was released - saying how much it helped him and thanked the Sheff Utd fans). He can see that United have a realistic chance, maybe a better chance than any other team, to get back in the Championship next season. Do you not think that he would like to be part of that?

The facts are, he's a good player who has had a brief spell in the Championship (and higher up) and looked good - but has been away from football for too long perhaps for a Championship club to take a chance on him. The kind of level he's at is League 1 with prospects of Championship next season. That's his next career step.

Why wouldn't it be United? Why wouldn't he want to come back? Please explain that to us?
