A Nice Gesture From Fenerbahçe

Wow, a letter! I imagine that Barca, Real, Bayern and Juve have already written to S6 hoping that the Massive make it back into the Premier.
The Champions League just isn't the same without them.

Are our Turkish bezzy mates going to celebrate with us in the last home game of the season, by coming along and chucking flares on the pitch?

Must say I've liked Fenerbahce for quite a while now, I remember going to Turkey quite a number of years ago now (2006/7 maybe?) And Fenerbahce had just won the league. I ended up getting their top and sporting it along the streets, as we walked past a number of shops we were excitedly invited in by the locals to free tea, Turkish delight and even got a free pair of sunnies  I recall my dad talking to them saying we were Blades fans, and what do you know a few years later we play them pre-season. Can I be foreign ambassador yet?:D

They didn't throw flares on the pitch last time. One was dropped on the lower tier, and even that didn't look intentional.

On any given week, social media is full of ordinary Fenerbahçe fans posting messages of support for us. It's a nice thing, lets just appreciate it. It doesn't happen often.

At least not quite everyone hates us.
Bradford did something similar last week.

Nice to see a positive thread after the shit today.

I notice we've had no congrats from that lot over at South Barnsley. I'm sure in the past we've congratulated them on promotions and I think they have us. But nothing this time unless I've missed it.

Strange, one would almost think they're not relishing the prospect of a resurgent United....

No our own supporters will be doing that .

If we ever played them in a competitive fixture, you just know it would be our own idiots trying to start something and not the other way around. Credit to Fenebahçe they have been right behind us for a few years now and hopefully one day we will share a competition.

Tyler. Despite your Fenerbache love-in, you obviously weren't there. I was in the South Stand that day and clearly saw a flare lobbed onto the pitch.

To prove my memory is not failing me, you may wish to watch:-

To be pedantic it was behind the hoardings and apparently was only thrown down there once it was done.
I was there btw. :)

Again, its not an aggressive act, it happens in their own ground every week. It's a failure to understand what's seen as proper behaviour in English football grounds at worst.

Not a reason to feel antipathy towards them. If we're ever invited to Istanbul for a game I'll venture to say our fans would be treated as guests of honour. And like I said, the enthusiasm that their fans show towards our club on social media suggests we would.

They do that in their stadiums every week. It's normal for them. They know what they're doing. There were no Blades fans near them, there was no one in the lower tier.

I don't see the problem with it. The reaction of some of our fans was a bit pathetic.

The worst part of all that was the "Engerland" chant afterward. Fucking embarrassing. I never want to hear that shit at Bramall Lane again.

No one near them, save for the ball boys running away from them which you can see in the video.

I don't think that they were doing it aggressively, but it was still inappropriate.

If I remember reyt they set flares of at a certain/same time during every game for some reason.

There was also a bit of 'fisticuffs' in the car park after, nothing ridiculous but it had potential at one point to get a lot worse. Have to say it looked more like some of our wannabe's chasing their fans

Think bit of pot and kettle here given the fact some of our fans threw flares directly into the Port Vale lot yesterday,as well as having an almighty ruck on the concourse amongst themselves at half time.
