I've got a deep feeling all you lot you've been had no centre forward coming in, shame.

A player can sign for 3 clubs in a season but can only play for 2, the loophole / exception is emergency / short term loans.

I think the key word missed in all of this is 'registered' when you go on loan to another club I don't think that means your registered to that club. I think the clause you're talking may only concerns transfers? Although I am no expert, I just think united must know the rules

Apologies, think you're correct unless you apply for fa/FIFA. I wondered if the rule had changed due to getting rid of short term loans and players being Allen to go on loan twice(between transfer windows)

Yeah I too could be wrong I'm not in anyway 100% sure but I thought you could only play for two clubs in a season regardless of if it's a loan or transfer.

I reckon it's saddo season and loads of folks with nothing better to do (Berty) are spreading bullshit about.

Clarke would not fair well at scummy Coventry. Every time their stupid fans blow their whistles like silly children Leon would collapse to the floor holding his ankle.

I've checked out this McBlubberflange. If you type the full name into Google it comes up with some reight good videos - didn't see anyone playing football in them mind - but if this is what the new signing is about then I'm all for it. I've said for years, things haven't been the same down at the Lane since we got rid of the Bladettes, but this McBlubberflange would be a huge leap in the right direction.

Fellas, it's easy enough to check out the rules - the rules state, "no more than 3 clubs" in a season. McNulty has only used up 2 of these lives so far. So yes, he can be sold or loaned to another club and he will be able to play for them.

He's on his way - surely? Why else would we have brought him back? He's done sweet FA at Bradford. He's going to be used as a pawn in a deal to bring in another player. Probably a striker. Possibly even a black one! The new Brian Deane will be joining us shortly maybe? (btw - this is pure speculation - I don't know anybody who knows anything about what's going on down at Bramall lane. I am gloriously proud of being NITK).

Why do we need a striker when we have Sharp Done Clark and Mcnulty?

Err...I can explain that...

Of the ones you mention, only Sharp can be relied upon to score goals.

Done is a complete dud of a striker - some fans love him because he runs around like his arse is on fire. You can hear them talking about him when he's not in the team "he pulls players all over the place - making more room and chances for Sharp". That's all they can say about him - because he doesn't score goals. Now, believe it or not, I am not anti-Done. I also appreciate his work rate. But, if it was my job on the line and I had to get Sheffield United promoted this season, then NO WAY IN HELL would I waste a striker position on Matt Done - because he is NOT going to fire the number of goals that will get the club promoted. I might play him in an attacking midfield role, yes, no problem, but as a striker...no.

Clark is an enigma so far. I'm willing to give the bloke longer to show us what he can do. He wasn't fully fit at the start of the season and he's played very few games, compared to say the likes of Matty Mad Dog Done, who has featured in the majority of them. However, Clark hasn't really showed his true value yet. He may well do - but look, we are over half-way through the season and this is getting now to the business end. We have a decision to make now. A bit like when you play Pontoon at cards. Do we "twist" or "stick"? Again, would I be 100% confident that Clark is going to find the form that saw him score 18 goals last season in a poor team at Bury? I wouldn't stake my job on it! Maybe you would?

And as for McNulty - he's done bugger all at Bradford and they are not disappointed to see the back of him. Are you saying that you'd be happy to rely on him to score the goals to get us promoted? Because I wouldn't.

You missed out on the one promising striker we have in addition to Sharp. And that's Caolan Lavery. I like him. I think he gives us something a bit different and has good quick fit and an instinct for goal. But, he's not the big target man type and neither is Sharp.

That's why we need another striker mate. Hope this helps?

Would like two of Done, Clark and mcnulty to go and us to bring in one other, jake wright is a good back up and can see him getting a job on the bench if he is not loaned out.

Star this morning reckons CW could still be after 2 players

If Riley is one, what is the position of the other?

Err...don't know. What formula should we use to calculate it? Sine, Cosine or Tangent?

I'd guess we are looking for a fast winger and a big black bloke. The new Deane and Agana routine. But, I could be wrong.

Swap McNulty out for Lavery and I agree whole-heartedly.
sharp and lavery are the only 2 out of 5 strikers who could possibly score when we get to the chanpionship and even thats not a gimme so yes we do need another striker if not now certainly in the summer my own preference would be matty taylor but got a feeling if one does come in it will be bogle at grimsby but he too is only a league 1 or 2 striker so maybe we need 2 in

If the opportunity arises, then yes, let's get ourselves a Championship quality striker.

But for now, I'm happy with our League One quality strikers to get us out of League One.

I've googled the rules and they say yes you can sign and register for three clubs in a season but you can only play competitively for two clubs in a season. As McNulty as played for both us and Bradford he could sign for someone else but he would be unable to play for them until the new season.

But, did Mcthing sign for Bradford and crucially did he register for them. I would have thought we retained his registration when sending him out on loan, but I could be very wrong.

Honestly I'm no expert but I believe the registered / not registered point is not the issue as he could register for 3 clubs anyway the issue is that he cannot play competitively for more than two clubs in one season or at least that's the way I've read it.
