Evening Blades. Now I'm not usually one to 'stir the pot' so to speak, but I've been told by 2 different people today that we've 'agreed personal terms' with a new striker. Neither of them gave any indication to who it may be & I'm now I'm scratching my head... has anyone else heard anything or have I been had?

I heard from someone ITK we were on the verge of signing a CF called Bill Shut...

I have seen or two things suggesting a surprisingly high quality player has held talks/agreed terms and that McCabe's really going for it in this transfer window.

Seems like something that's likely to be an exaggeration if not bullshit, but not something that can be dismissed completely.

But if it's true then I'm just going to say Rickie Lambert to have an outside chance of looking clever.

If it could be any striker at this level who I think could do it at the championship, my choice would be Lee Gregory, Think he is quality at this level and looks to have the ability to make the step up and even overtake Sharp as the number one striker (sacrilege I know).

We have to go up this season, to,enable McCabe to cash in and enable the club to move on

The lad from Roverrum?

If it's Danny Ward you mean, then I doubt it to be honest. Pretty sure there are plenty of Championship clubs already looking at him - cracking little forward mind! Seen the Millers a couple of times this season & he's easily their best player.

Are we one of the lg1 clubs who are (alledgedly) after Craig Davies at Wigan? If so could it be him?

Other than that I reckon Danny Ward might be tempted by the right offer. Stay in the area, bigger club, a strong possibility of playing in the same league next season, probably on more money as well?

Go on then, I'll bite. What things?

For starts, either not getting a game or achievable from division above

Nick Blackman
Cauly Woodrow
Danny Ward
Conor Washington
Daryl Murphy
Matej Vydra
Nouha Dicko

I've seen Danny Ward a couple of times this season and he's a good player

I would guess he ticks a number of boxes for CW and AK

Reyt age (just turned 26)
Out of contract in Summer
Reyt work ethic (works his socks off)
Championship experience
Still scoring goals in a side that's really struggling

Going to pip West Ham to the signing of Jermain Defoe.

Just read there's a whole host of Champs clubs after Ward including Derby, Pigs and Wolves, so might be best to scrub him from that list

Given that we are likely to be in the Championship next season, we will be a "Champs club" so for the right deal, can't see why he wouldn't move a couple of miles up the road, especially if he buys into CW's very persuasive vision of where he wants to take the Blades.

We all know money talks, so it's only in the financial context would we struggle. At this moment in time we can't compete with the likes of Derby Wolves and Pigs

I agree tho regards AK and CW's persuasive abilities

twitter shite?

#sufc personal terms agreed on a centre forward and mcnulty has been brought back to bring down the asking price..... #twitterblades

you wouldn't believe me if I said the name so let's wait and see #sufc

More than likely. If a club is interested in McNulty then they have to be from Div1 or 2.

Matty Taylor - Too similar to Sharp for me
Lee Gregory - Similar to Clarke. Would there be enough movement?
Bogle - My favourite
Mandeville - No idea what type of player he is to be honest.
