QPR is one of my favourite away days, although to be honest it may be because I've seen us win there on every occasion.
There was the 3-0 win in the FA Cup in January 2015 when Harry Redknapp was manager, Jamal Campbell Ryce the star of the show.
An important 2-1 win in 2018, our first win of the season after a poor start to the season. We were a goal down and the fightback kick started our season which ended in promotion.
Hopefully we'll look back on today as a key factor in our promotion after a disappointing end to the Leeds game.
It's a tight old fashioned ground and a friendly club. It was good to see the Stan Bowles tribute at halftime, a legend at the club.

It's crying out for rail seating. I saw there was a small section but the steepness of the stand and lack of space made it quite intimidating to slip past people to get to your position.
I do like it as a ground though!

Loftus Rd is a cracking little ground, truly unique with all that an old school supporter wants in a football ground, although I'm likely biased as it was my first ever away win in 98/99! (2-1, Stuart and Katch) Can't see it being around forever, definitely worth a visit while you still can.

Saw us win there in around 2004 I think. It was my last blades game before moving to Australia. Went with a few London blades on sunny Tuesday night and we won 1 nil (Andy Gray?!). Cracking few boozers near the ground and very friendly locals with good banter.

Definitely an amazing old school small enclosed ground. I think we were on the lower tier so assume they've changed the allocation in recent years?

One for older blades!.Won promotion (1972) The draw at QPR was the catalyst to promotion.
We had just experienced defeat to Hull city at the lane think the attendance was 41,000 .
Blades were butchered by Simpkin & Knighton who were two big players in there midfield. We took the lead early doors and all hell broke loose, how Hull got away with it god only knows, halfway through the first half the ref called a stop and called both teams together on the halfway line for a lecture.
It had worked though as it knocked United off there game and we lost 2-1.They wouldnt get away with it today although Plymouth had a good try yesterday against City ( the Sheffield referee must have left his cards at home got away with some tasty challenges.).
Back to the theme of my post!
We wernt at the races ! Playing like a team that had thrown promotion away ! losing 2-0 with a few minutes to go!.Out of the blue Woody scored a deflected goal. not really deserved as we had more or less accepted defeat we then went on to win a pen which Ted Helmsley dispatched.
Rodney Marsh was playing for QPR and from the kick off at 2-2 he shot at goal from the halfway line a frustrated gesture ! Ref then called time!😀.
11 matches to go and that point started an undefeated run all the way to that Watford game at the Lane where a win would do it !3-0 was the score( scullion who we signed hit the cross bar for them at 0-0).
A reflection on the game today we
usually go up runners up whic

h tends to mean it's a rocky road all the way! Here we go again !!

It was 1971. I was at the Lane watching the reserves that day. My dad and I were on our way home walking in John Street thinking that the first team had lost 2-0 but there was some excitement and shouting which made us run back inside the ground to look at the pavilion scoreboard. 2-2! We couldnt believe at the turnaround. Never forgot that day!

Love Loftus Road - watched Blades in the away end, home end and directors box (an old connection when we had visit Malta sponsors), so I’ve had the full experience and it’s one of my favourite away days.

Yes, away fans now go in the upper tier.

Yep silent 71 ! got the year wrong but never forget the events that unfolded after this game.
You had to be there to see the body language when we were 2 down and had given up really! Act of God?😏👍
