A few very brief observations from the stats. As I am almost too depressed for words, I am keeping this very short, and deliberately only trying to find a couple of vague positives, before I throw myself in the canal. Knowing by doing so that others will legitimately state these stats mean little set against the wider performance. But if I listed the negatives, this post would be longer than Deadbat’s.

- Peck had a pass completion rate of 91%, made second most key passes, most tackles (5, next best 2), most interceptions, and didn’t drift too far forward as he has previously.

- Burrows made 13 crosses (next best 3) and was the only player to make an accurate cross (with 3), as well as making most key passes (3) and most successful dribbles (3). He also made second most successful tackles and interceptions and had most touches of anyone in either team by a distance. I would not suggest his defensive play has been good, but (if Hamer is absent) he remains our only/best attacking creative force.

That’s it, the canal beckons……

Peck isn’t the problem if he’s part of a robust and functioning midfield.

Burrows dead ball delivery was woeful. Everyone behind the line instead of over and beyond it.

Barry does not help Burrows be the effective contributor he can be. He can’t run the left and then defend the left on his own. No wonder he’s knackered after 50 mins.

Burrows and Peck are being let down. In a functioning team they can shine again. Just need a coach with a clear plan, playing to our strengths in a formation which the players can understand and have confidence in.

Not only does Barry not track back, he has not made a single successful cross yet this season. And no key pass since the opening game. Massive lack of output for a player who promises so much, but contributes nothing in either direction. Touch wood our new manager can get him living up to his potential.

Barry is not good enough! I think bringing him in shows Sellers judgment on players is poor.Wilder back for me!.

In the second half when United were playing towards the away end I thought who is this little guy standing around doing nothing. It was Barry

Or out of the team altogether.

Given the Selles impact on the performance of all players, including those who have previously done very well for us, once the new guy starts, I would be inclined to give everyone a fresh start/clean slate.
