A few observations from the stats:
- despite his two goals (both off the post?) Hamer edges Burrows as MOTM with most key passes (4), most shots, on and off target (5 and 3), most touches (by a distance), second most crosses (6) and even second most tackles - he was the lynch pin to the team. And again his relationship with OHare is fantastic (with 3 shots, 2 key passes, 3 crosses, and 2 successful dribbles). That pair are the ones who always make us tick.
- defensively, Gilchrist (10 successful defensive contributions) and Anel (with 8) both have strong stats. Robbo, with no tackles, no clearances, and just one aerial duel won, stands out in a negative way, with a surprising lack of involvement. Burrows attacking play was exceptional not just the goals but most crosses (9) and even second most clearances (4 - after Anel).
- in midfield it is noticeable that Peck and Davies now regularly have better tackle stats. And Peck had the highest pass completion rate (93%) whilst Davies had second most key passes (with 3).
- the attack has a couple of surprises. Seriki had most successful dribbles (3) despite being a sub. And Brewster was more involved than I had thought with most aerial duels won, as well as 3 shots and 2 key passes.
Let’s enjoy the three points and being top overnight - and hope for reinforcements asap!
